So my friend Lanigan recommended this movie called “easy a“.  i did not watch this movie because the trailer looked really dumb.   Clearly I should NOT be judging a movie by it’s trailer.   It was such a funny movie and I really really really enjoyed it.  Really great writing and awesome acting.  Yes, it was very predictable plot but i am willing to overlook that slight flaw for the entertainment value of this movie….  here’s a sample of good writing from this movie.

“Whatever happened to chivalry? Does it only exist in 80’s movies? I want John Cusack holding a boombox outside my window. I wanna ride off on a lawnmower with Patrick Dempsey. I want Jake from Sixteen Candles waiting outside the church for me. I want Judd Nelson thrusting his fist into the air because he knows he got me. Just once I want my life to be like an 80’s movie, preferably one with a really awesome musical number for no apparent reason. But no, no, John Hughes did not direct my life.”

For Valentine’s this year, John and I went to see this play called “That Championship Season.”   As you can see, it was an awesome cast and recently they were featured in a NYTimes article.

Just came back from my short trip to LA and went to Disneyland for the first time.  YES, it was my first time although I’ve lived there for years and years. But at this happiest place on earth, I’ve experienced one of the scariest moments of my life.

A friend posted this on his FB page and of course I couldn’t resist.  Yes, it’s an actual cat fashion show.  The Gothamist had a good coverage of the event.  I showed it to John and he said, “when cats revolution come, these people are gonna be the first ones to be guillotined.”

So if you haven’t heard and if you are not already following, Kanye West joined Twitter last week.   Read this on Huffington Post the other day.  It’s pretty hilarious.

I was really excited to hear that Louis Ck was having his own TV show called “Louie.”  I thought he was hilarious ever since I saw this youtube clip of him on Conan.

I can’t say enough positive things about Nike.  It’s one of my favorite brands and you may already know, I am extremely loyal to the brands that I like.   And today while going thru a potential company I may be working for, I came across another Nike commercial that I just thought was phenomenal….

so we’ve all seen those match.com or chemistry.com or eharmony.com commercials. well i saw this commercial the other day and thought it was the same …

I recently started to make time to watch Ellen everyday.  Watching her show at the of a long day is actually theraputic for me.   I had forgotten how funny, witty, and incredibly generous she is.   Sometimes, I sit around laughing by myself watching her show, and yes, my cats stare at me give me funny looks.  And today Ellen celebrated her 1100th show.  Congratulations to her and her awesome show.

Okay, this is wrong and funny at the same time.  It’s too funny I have to share.  Gotta love MadTV.  And here’s another one that I thought was pretty hilarious and rather ironic from MadTV/Apple combo.

Okay, I’m that crazy cat lady.  Happy Holidays from, Snickers, Teffie, Harriett, and Tigger!

Yes, I’m the crazy cat lady with 4 cats at home.  But videos like this should make everyone a cat lover.  This is kind of neat since I’ve taught Snickers to give me “high-five” over the weekend.  This kitten is so cute and this trick is just hilarious!  I have NO clue why my friend forwarded me this video…. No clue….

I was in the mood to listen to some Kanye West then came across these videos.

Modern Family – One of the funnier shows on TV these days.  And this episode was pretty hilarious.  Then of course, I couldn’t get Glee’s version of “gold digger” out of my head for literally hours….

Lovely Jen had forwarded me this hilarious yet so right-on article called “How Twilight Works,” on The Oatmeal, after I asked her if she was the author of MylifeisTwilight

Although I agree with majority of the theory on The Oatmeal, I think this is how Twilight really works:

20091019_voguehartnettlee_main1

Saw this Korean Vogue cover with Mr. Lee Byung Hun and Josh Hartnett.  Folks, it’s the freaking VOGUE!  It’s not a mom and pop newspaper being printed a HP printer.  It’s the VOGUE!!!!!  They don’t have ONE employee who speaks English well enough to tell them that they shouldn’t be printing, “Two of us Couples!”  SERIOUSLY!!!!  I know my English grammar isn’t my forte, but even I know that, that sounds beyond funny.  But this is VOGUE!  SERIOUSLY?????

But they do look pretty darn good in these photos….

Jet_City_Cakes_eyeball

Saw this article in NYTimes this week about “Cakes Gone Wrong” and a website called “Cake Wrecks.”  Then I came across this particular cake, and I was totally baffled then I read the original cake order.  I’m sure it was intentionally screwed up for a good-laugh sake and I would have to say I was slightly amused.

Ari…. seriously….. HR nitemare but quite entertaining to see him run around in his insanity mode.  If you haven’t seen the episode, this is a spoiler alert.  Ari goes around the newly acquired company, literally “firing” paintball at the employees that he doesn’t want anymore.  The employees are running around in terror, wondering if they’ll be Ari’s next target. I’m sure this would be the most traumatizng way to get fired

Here’s my favorite quote from this week’s GLEE.  Kristin Chenoweth was guest star and played a character named April.  Like the quirky character she played in the beloved Pushing Daisies, she was soooo good!

April: “Your lack of imagination astounds me.  This is the only the beginning.  If you can master this, you can sneak anything out of a store between your knees.  Shoes, prom dresses.  I almost got a cake out of a kid’s bday party, with the candle still lit!”

UntitledSimon Rex in Rex in LA…when you have thirty minutes

Last nite’s episode of Glee was pretty Gleesome!   John was yelling at me for wanting to start the episode while he was cleaning up after dinner.  Apparently he feels like he needs to be super focused to watch this show.  I understand, cause I kind of feel like that as well.

So my dear friend Grace L was nice enough to share some memorable lines from last nite’s episode of Glee and I HAD to share!

  • ” Josh and I have become frequent penpals since he accidentally friended me on MySpace” – Sandy
  • ” i’m going to have to ask you to smell your armpits.  that’s the smell of failure. ” – Sue
  • ” i play guitar and.. actually a really good singer. … there are lots of moms at your gigs, right?”  – Puck
  • “dude, my bowels have better moves than you” – Puck
  • ” what’s wrong with me?  what’s wrong with me is that you’re freakishly tall!!   i feel like a WOODLAND creature!” – Dakota Stanley
  • ” He’s here!  Josh Grobin is here!  Front row, big brown eyes, cute as a buttermilk biscuit!   I barfed.”  – Sandy
  • ” Throngs of screaming teenagers don’t do it for Josh Grobin.  Josh Grobin loves a blousy alcoholic.” – Josh Grobin

IGN Video: How I Met Your Mother TV Clip – Barney On The Price Is Right

So I’ve been obsessing about my new favorite show in the world for the past 2 weeks.  Started off so innocently with Jen S offering to let me borrow the first season of “How I Met Your Mother.”    And honestly John and I really haven’t been able to watch anything else since we started watching these DVDs….

Then yesterday, as my husband and I are going thru the 2nd season, my favorite show of all time collided with my new favorite show.  That’s right folks, PRICE IS RIGHT and HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER!!!!!

Barney, aka a friend I wish I had in my life, has also become one of my favorite TV characters of all time as well.  And I hear myself going around saying things like, “Give me Five!”, “Lengen…. wait for it…. dary!”, and “Have you met Ted?”…. I wish almost everyday that I had a friend like BARNEY STINSON!

Anywho, in this particular episode, you find out that when Barney was little, his dear mother had told him that Bob Barker was his biological father.  So he is on this quest to get on Price is Right.  Here’s a small clip from the episode.  I wish I could share the entire episode cause it’s soooooo freaking AWESOME!

Saw this video this morning and it totally made my day.  And I’ve been watching it all day just as I am pumping out some financial reports.  These are the things that I LOVE about this video

  1. The title of the video is called “JK Wedding… ”  hello?  My initial.. JK!
  2. Chris Brown’s “forever”.  It’s my favorite song like ever.
  3. The initial tossing of the paper by the two usher at the beginning of the video.  Hilarious.  Totally set the tone for the rest of the video
  4. The sunglasses….
  5. The Matrix move at the end… classic music video style!

I don’t know if any of my friends would’ve had the balls to do something like this but I did try to convince John to dance to Barry White’s “you’re my first, my last my everything”, “Saturday Nite Fever” style.  No, it didn’t fly…

so my friend sent me this link last week. i can’t post it because i rechecked the link and it’s no longer there anymore. but basically it was about a pirate hunting russian cruise. if you google pirate hunting cruise, you’ll find a bunch of links. they pretty much all say the same thing …

for 3,500 pounds a day, some russian cruise will arm you with a lot of weapons and take you to the pirate infested seas. they’ll move slowly to bait the pirates and then when they try to hijack you, you attack. and apparently, you’re protected by ex-navy seals or marines or whatever russian equivalent if stuff goes wrong.

yeah …………………..

sad thing is …. i actually thought this was a real cruise ………………

Gina and I were driving into work this morning and had one of the funniest conversation ever about funky names.  Then I found these videos…

if anyone’s seen old school, you know about total eclipse of the heart even if you weren’t born in that decade. in case you forgot …

well i’ve never seen the real official video. until now. sort of. it’s not the real song. but a parody ..

HAHAHA. ok. this is just funny. poison frontman and star of vh1’s rock of love, bret michaels was literally knocked down by a set piece while performing at the 2009 tony awards on sunday. the way he falls is really funny.

alex told me about this billboard ad. pretty hilarious. i think it’s clear to see who won this battle between audi and bmw.

I’ve never listened to Jonas Brothers before.  I don’t even know what they sing.  But after seeing Joe Jonas dressed up in tights, singing “single ladies”, I may actually check them out.  But I wish he could’ve at least learned some of the words to the song.

celebrity_682_653227a

I’m a celebrity get me out of here!‘ is PURE entertainment in sooo many different levels.  John and I just watched the first 3 episodes back to back and even John laughed out loud couple of times.  Trust me, that’s a really rare thing.  Here are some memorable moments from the show.

HEIDI and SPENCER.  SPEIDI… I don’t even know where to begin with this.  Spencer is an ass and because he’s an ass, it’s HILARIOUS on the show.  Here are some memorable moments of Heidi and Spencer so far.

NUP_135040_0001

  1. Heidi and Spencer already walked out of the show 3 times and came back.
  2. Spencer got baptized in the river by Stephen Baldwin before walking off one more time.
  3. The other celebrities decided to split Heidi and Spencer’s items after they walked off, and when they came back, Heidi cried and cried because they took the label off of her hair spray.
  4. Heidi and Spencer prayed for Patti Blagojevich while holding hands.
  5. Spencer “faking” the other contestants or as he calls them, his “servants”.
  6. Heidi claiming that the “devil” got them to leave the show for the 3rd time on Live TV.
  7. Spencer losing a challenge because he ate the garnish as well as the bug.
  8. Heidi/Spencer/Sanjaya doing the fire dance  around the camp fire.
  9. Heidi and Spencer sleeping with their mouths open in a hammock as the othere celebrities were taking pictures of them.

And it goes on and on and on and on.  And yes, John Salley cried because Janice Dickenson wouldn’t accept his apology….   This show got me out of my mourning period of Fringe’s season being over.

I think I just might have to give a daily update on this show.  Too entertaining not to.  Did I mention that Gina and I actually met one of the contestants on the show?

23crapstone_600

Seriously, you and I both know, that if I had made this up…. you probably wouldn’t even crack a smirk.  But the fact that there are people actually living on a street called “butt hole road“, somewhere on this planet, is freaking entertaining for me.  And no, it’s not an one way street.

so i don’t listen to korean music. AT ALL. i know H.O.T. maybe two of their songs. i remember COOL. DJ DOC. but other than that, i’m lost. but i’ve heard of the wonder girls. it’s quality pop music i think. i don’t listen to it but i wouldn’t object to it if it was on the radio or something.

so i guess “nobody” is a very popular wonder girls song. i’m not sure. someone can confirm or refute that claim. anyway, after perusing the internet, i came across this music video. very powerful message. seriously.

Another funny one that still makes me laugh.

i think mr. t sums it up right. you better treat your mother right!

happy mother’s day! or post mother’s day. has anyone seen this past saturday night live with justin timberlake? because i didn’t. but a great digital short from justin timberlake and adam samberg. this is for all the moms …

Here’s some aspects about this news story that I find utterly fascinating and entertaining:

  1. The fact that this guy actually consciously decided to not only rob people, but dress up as a ninja to rob people.
  2. The fact that this guy thought his ninja/nunchuck/stealth skillz was good enough to dress up as a ninja, not just as a mask man, or a cowboy, or a mailman.
  3. These comical ninja costume pictures being flashed during news cast, as the reporter says things like, “the ninja burglar may look like this man… “
  4. Notice that these burglaries are only happening in Staten Island.  Seriously…. alot of “odd” things happen there. I know, I actually lived there for a year.
  5. The fact that nobody is reporting some random dude dressed as a ninja roaming the streets of Staten Island.  Could it be that he’s that stealth-like?????
  6. The terrorized victims describe in awe, his fighting, climbing, and running skills.
  7. The fact that this man has robbed SEVENTEEN times and hasn’t been caught yet.  How hard would it be for the police to catch a man dressed up as a ninja?  I lived there, trust me, there aren’t alot of ninjas walking around Victory Blvd.

He may possibly look like this:

But more likely, he probably looks like this:

Here’s an actual report, not funny one, but a serious one about this news story on NY1.

the lonely island. akiva schaffer, jorma taccone, and andy samberg. if you don’t recognize their names, you’d probably recognize their work on SNL: dick in a box, iran so far, etc. and other SNL digital shorts. well they’ve come out with an album called incredibad.

this is one of my more favorite videos they’ve come out with: like a boss. special cameo by seth rogen.

anyone watch letterman last night? i never watch letterman. never. but regardless, even i know about letterman’s top ten list. well because of the tough times, letterman brought on an expert to give you financial tips. who? donald trump, of course.

personally, i love 8, 4, and 1.

big_bang_theory_season_one

There are few shows that I really really enjoy on CBS, other than the news programs like CBS Sunday Morning and 60 Minutes.  One of them is a show called The Mentalist (which i’m sure I’ll eventually blog about), and the other one is this hilarious show called, “The Big Bang Theory.”  It’s a show that my hubby and I could both really enjoy together.  It’s a TV show about true-ultimate nerds living in LA.  I enjoy it so much purely based on the fact that the characters on the show remind me alot of John.  And I think John likes the show based on the fact that he could relate to these characters.  I think he secretly loves explaining all the obsecure references that only a true nerd can appreciate and funny grasp.  It’s a really hilarious show.  You should definitely make the time to watch it.

you know the shamwow guy .. vince. so you know he’s on another commercial. the slap chop. it’s pretty much like any other chopping utensil. you know, the first time i saw him, i knew he would be a star. i just didn’t know he’d have a rapping career …

you either love or hate tracy morgan. i, love tracy morgan. he’s random as hell and just crazy and ridiculous. iiii like it. a clip of tracy morgan talking just nonsense on a radioshow. but it’s hilarious.

Another find on Etsy.  Seriously how funny is this?  It makes me wonder who would spend $40 to buy something like this, but at the same time, it looks pretty darn good!

if you don’t know .. maybe it’s best you don’t.

but happy holidays! an entertaining video i found today…

seriously. probably one of the strongest and most determined group of people there is in the world.  it’s a freaking strong cult following. i don’t know what it is about colbert. but he says something, and the next day, things are a happening. i, too, am part of colbert nation. tune in tonight to see if they name the space shuttle after him. comedy central. 11:30 est. pm.

what kind of license plate is small fry? i’d think small fry is one of those things you’d never want to be called, let alone advertise on your plate …

and just for shits and giggles .. the music video they feature at the end of episode.

ohhh southpark. i love south park. they’re so on point with social commentary and comedy. i don’t watch it nearly as religiously as i should. yesterday’s episode was way too funny. for everyone who thinks kanye takes himself way too seriously, you’ll enjoy. check out other full episodes here.
