So my friend Lanigan recommended this movie called “easy a“.  i did not watch this movie because the trailer looked really dumb.   Clearly I should NOT be judging a movie by it’s trailer.   It was such a funny movie and I really really really enjoyed it.  Really great writing and awesome acting.  Yes, it was very predictable plot but i am willing to overlook that slight flaw for the entertainment value of this movie….  here’s a sample of good writing from this movie.

“Whatever happened to chivalry? Does it only exist in 80’s movies? I want John Cusack holding a boombox outside my window. I wanna ride off on a lawnmower with Patrick Dempsey. I want Jake from Sixteen Candles waiting outside the church for me. I want Judd Nelson thrusting his fist into the air because he knows he got me. Just once I want my life to be like an 80’s movie, preferably one with a really awesome musical number for no apparent reason. But no, no, John Hughes did not direct my life.”

Saw this  and I totally had to share.  UP is one of my favorite movies of all time.  And a team from National Geographic’s new show, “How Hard Can It Be?” was cool enough to try this for me

A friend sent me this video recently because he saw my posting about 500 days of summer on this blog some time ago.   And while watching this video funny thing occurred to me.  If I was a man, I would love to date someone like Zooey Deschanel.  She would be my soul mate.  Funny thing is, shouldn’t I have been thinking, “wow, that joseph gordon-levitt, sure is a cutie!”

I watched the movie Closer with great expectations.  Natalie Portman & Clive Owen(BMW films – Top 5 movie picks) in a same movie was enough for me to have these high hopes for this movie.  The movie was “eh” at best but I was able to walk away with music of Damien Rice, which I think just may be one of the greatest things in the world.  I love his music and adore his poetic and penetrating lyrics.   I have spent many hours walking and thinking listening to his songs in many different cities.  And I’m sure my head will once again be filled with his voice/music this autumn in NYC.

I saw Kick Ass in Seattle while visiting my bff Gian at a theater where they served alcohol.  I think I would’ve enjoyed this movie even without the alcohol.  Yes, there was incredible amount of violence, and yes there was incredible amount of profanity, and yes, most of it was from actors who were just kids .  But it was one of the most entertaining movies that I’ve seen in a really long time.  Mindless, good action, good plot,  and good dialogue.  It was  satisfying in so many ways.  John and I watched it recently and I was glad I made the time to watch it again.

How often do I get disappointed with movies because people around me have hyped it up too much?  Probably way too often. But Inception was a movie that exceeded the hype and went above and beyond my expectation of a movie.  Yes, I’m sure we wouldn’t have expected anything less from Christopher Nolan who directed the beloved The Dark Knight.  And he definitely brought his “A game” to this movie.

I’m not sure how this slip my radar.  But yes, there will be an actual theatrical release of a movie based on the Facebook story this October. | continue reading |

I haven’t seen the movie but now I am willing to wait for the DVD.   | continue reading |

When I found out I was going to be “transitioned” out of my current position, after couple of days crying, I had sent out an email to friends and family about my situation.  Then someone forwarded me this site called Lemonade the movieIt really gave me the courage and hope that I really needed at the time.  I’m sure it was a way for God to reassure me that things were gonna be okay and that this was happening for a reason beyond my limited understanding.  I’ve been going thru a bit of an emotional and spiritual discovery in the past couple of weeks.  When I have some more time to spare, which I will in couple of weeks, I’ll definitely post more things about my process and progress.

UP was one of my favorite movies.  And Russell was such an awesome character.  So when I saw this picture, it totally brought a smile to my face.  This is not the kid who was the voice in the movie.  Not really sure who this kid is but this is so freaking cute.

I was in the mood to listen to some Kanye West then came across these videos.

Lovely Jen had forwarded me this hilarious yet so right-on article called “How Twilight Works,” on The Oatmeal, after I asked her if she was the author of MylifeisTwilight

Although I agree with majority of the theory on The Oatmeal, I think this is how Twilight really works:

Saw this flick called “500 Days of Summer” couple of weeks ago with bunch of folks.  I had to drag John go to see it with us and the whole time he was asking why we weren’t watching the #1 movie from the previous week, “District 9”.

After the movie, the men were having a indepth discussion about their worst, best and the scariest movies, while Jen S, Suah and I were standing the corner having a serious discussion about actually writing our very own movie/screenplay/book.  A SERIOUS discussion.  It will be at the very least, fantabulous and funny!

Anywho, here’s one of my favorite part from “500 Days of Summer”.  I love singing/dancing sequences in the movies.  And Suah mentioned how she couldn’t get this song out of her head for days.  Lanigan said this movie copied bunch of things from “Annie Hall,”  another movie that I should really watch.

Seriously, don’t you feel safe just by looking at this pix?

One of my favorite movies in the world.  I go around quoting lines from this movie.  This trailer made me think twice…..

I’ve been saying this for YEARS.  Why can’t they get REAL Korean actors who can speak Korean like REAL Koreans?????? Funny thing, the actress Yun Jin Kim grew up in the states. And out of everyone in this scene, she’s the only one who sounds like a native Korean.

The thing is, I’m sure there are plenty of starving Korean actors who would LOVE to put LOST on their resume.  Why not give those people the chance?  It always upsets me when I see actors playing Korean parts who are clearly NOT Korean.  WTF.

But don’t you worry, I found out today that this kind of WTFness is not just with Koreans.  My Russian buddy Olga informs me that this happens all the time with Russian characters as well.  Apparently, Matt Damon’s(as Jason Bourne) Russian was perfect and Ben Affleck’s (as Jack Ryan) sucked!

This is kind of old but thought to share regardless.  Transformers 2 was pretty decent.  Total summer blockbuster with really solid fighting scenes and all.  But a bit too long with the non-sense comical shinanigans….

So for awhile, I was totally obsessed with this show called “the avatar: the last airbender“.  I’ve heard rumors about the movie in production and yesterday for the first time, I saw the trailer for the movie.  I am already excited for this movie to come out next year!  Don’t fail me M. Night Shyamalan!!!!!!

I have read all 4 books in the Twilight series (Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn) in 2 weekends.  I have never been ashamed to admit this fact until now.

Just in case you are curious, this is the “New Moon” trailer.  After watching their reaction, I watched the trailer again trying to make sense of their reaction.  Ummmm…. still…. ummmm.. oh yeah… ummmm… nothing.

Transformers, roll out!

Transformers, roll out!

Griffith Park is one of my favorite places in LA.  I don’t care that it’s touristy and I don’t care that you get to see all the smog of LA.  And yes, this is where the Transformers got together to have a little pow-wow….

Saw Bangkok Dangerous with Nicolas Cage this weekend along with 10 other films.  The only really memorable thing about the movie was this watch.  It’s made by a company called V-Tec, which no long is in business.  Very unfortunate, since the watch is pretty awesome.

I am pretty sure the Transporter movies were based on these BMW Films.  When I was first introduced to these films by a good buddy, I couldn’t stop obsessing over them.  These films made me also become a huge Clive Owen fan.

“The Follow” is one of my favorite due to the beautiful music, scenery and cinematography.  There about 8 short films, featuring stars like Forest Whitaker, Mickey Rourke, Madonna, Don Cheadle, James Brown, Marilyn Manson, and many others.   You should totally check them out on Youtube

ok. i’m going to assume that everybody’s read where the wild things are at some point in their life. most likely childhood. i don’t think i’ve met anyone, at least from my generation (i’m an 80s baby) that hasn’t read this book. eh, there might be a couple. but only because they didn’t grow up in america. you guys know what i’m talking about.

well guess what, they’re finally making it into a movie. I KNOW. awesome. and guess who’s directing it … SPIKE JOOONZE (pretend you hear me saying it like i’m saying mike jooones. you know, the rapper). he’s done a bunch of music videos that i love. i’m super stoked. and you know who’s composing the music? carter burwell and karen o from the yeah yeah yeahs. yeah, i have no idea who carter burwell is but i sure damn well know who karen o is.

can you tell how stoked i am? just a little. can’t wait for october..

Mr. Zachary Quinto aka Sylar is a handsome man.  But due to the psycho-sociopath that he plays on Heroes, I can’t look at him without thinking about Sylar

On the other hand this is the first time I’ve been introduced Mr. Chris Pine.  Gorgeous eyes, southern charm, great sense of humor, I just wish he was a bit taller? 🙂

JJ Abrams had brought Fringe into my life and now the new Star Trek crew!  Thank you JJ Abrams!  Just saw the new Star Trek movie and it was pretty fantastic.  The character development, the intricate plot that John kept wanting to explain, and nostalgic moments of familiar characters with their catch phrases….AHHHHHHHH, it was executed flawlessly!

However John made a good point.  If they wanted to stay true to the story, the panels of the Bridge should’ve been in DOS and decorated in bright lights and stickers, none of this minority report” technology….

Regardless, it was a fantastic movie and would love to see it again!

SERIOUSLYYYYYYY!!!! My Tuesday just got really really better with this movie trailer.  Transfomer 2 : Revenge of the Fallen is coming out this summer and I am looking forward to this movie as much as I am looking to the new Star Trek movie.  Transformers look really out of this world fantastic!

cinespia1…movies at the Hollywood Forever Cemetary during the summer

I finally got around to seeing the Twilight movie the other week.  Of course it wasn’t as good as the book but I literally gasped when Edward Cullen appeared on screen the first time.   The acting was bad and there was no chemistry between Edward and Bella.  Casting for the rest of the characters was horrible at best.  But seriously, ask me if I cared… I mean just look at this man!

pointbreaklive…yourself as keanu reeves in point break live

CLEARLY, I am not plugged into what’s going on in the world as I should be.  I just found out today that Daniel Henney, also known as the best looking Koreanesque man that I am aware of, is in the  X-men movie  as the Agent Zero.  How could I have found out just today?????  Here are some pix of this gorgeous man just in case you’ve been unplugged as I’ve been about certain things in your life, or if you just want to appreciate really really really attractive man!

today is officially earth day. go see the movie earth from disney. i don’t know. seems like planet earth but james earl jones is the narrator and it only follows three families. still seems awesome to me. what’s better than animals in HDDDDD? it’s out today.

I can’t even begin to put into words how excited I am about this film coming out.  There’s a huge poster across the street from my office and it stirs up certain type of emotions everytime I walk by it.  Then I read a brief reivew on NY Mag, and it referred to the film as “star trek 90210.”  Let me tell you, I don’t really care how bad the movie was, there’s pretty much nothing that will stop my hubby and I to go see this flick on the opening night!

I’m sure alot of you saw this fantastic little movie called, “slumdog millionaire”.  As much as I loved the movie, the thing I loved more was the song/dance that closed the movie.  So when I saw this music video over the weekend while comforting Tigger after his bath, it totally made my day.  It almost made me want to drop everything and learn the dance for my next LA visit….
The movie was okay.  The graphics were freaking amazing but I think they over did it with the length. Just poor editing? With all the hype, I think people were generally expecting something different. But it was good to hear that the die hard fans just loved it because it was so true to the book. I personally thought it was un-necessary for the blue character to be walking around naked the whole movie but John was able to see the reference to Adam, before the fall.

Some commercials that I just LOVED.

“Knowing only is half the battle…. GOOOOOOOOO JOEEEEE!”

Live long and prosper…. “

No American car commercials this year but have no fear my lovely one, AUDI is here! The commercial was eh, but my two loves, AUDI and Jason Statham.

On a side note, I think my husband might’ve shed a tear for the “land of the lost” trailer….
