Saw this  and I totally had to share.  UP is one of my favorite movies of all time.  And a team from National Geographic’s new show, “How Hard Can It Be?” was cool enough to try this for me

DeLonghi Gran Dama Super Automatic Espresso Machine (orig $3,500… now $2,299)

I am what you call a social drinker.  I drink alcohol only in a social setting and I usually only drink coffee in a social setting as well.  But I would still want something like this at home.  Maybe because I’m pretentious…. 🙂

This is what my Ovation looks like.  I’ve had it for really long time and it usually sits in a case covered with dust in the corner of my living room.  But time to time, I make the effort to take it out and attempt to make music with the maybe 10 chords that I do know.

It would be an understatement for me to say that I hate saying “good-byes”.  I don’t think it’s a blessing but rather a curse for me to get so emotionally attached to people who come into my life….

Due to my current financial situation, my purchasing power has been extremely limited to almost… nothing.  But bought this gorgeous Jonathan Adler storage box for my nite stand from Gilt.  And I LOVE it.  I dumped all my crap in there and my nite stand looks super clean.  It makes me happy looking at it.  So it was totally worth not eating for couple of days.

Recently saw this Brinca Dada’s modern doll house on Gilt and I couldn’t believe my eyes.  Other than the fact that I would much prefer living in a house like this than to play with it,  I thought when John and I have kids, surely they would play with this kind of doll house.  If they don’t like it, I’m sure either I’ll force them to or get them tested to see if they are really my kids.

My newest purchase from Gilt today.  At this rate, I WILL need to get a job.  And apparently I LOVE shoes more than Claudia.  Although I didn’t steal them from her, and we are on the oppt coasts, we will be wearing the same shoes on some days.   I can’t wait to wear them.  Perfect for NYC Fall!

Right now, my small 1 bedroom apartment is overflowing with boxes, bags, paper, art supplies, and crates.  It’s getting so out of control that I am getting annoyed.  But with 5 events on my plate in next 45 days, I have no choice but to deal with the crazy/chaotic mess that I am creating in my living space.

seriously, how cute are these rings?

“A 40-ton whale flipped into the air and smashed the mast of a 33-foot boat off the coast of Cape Town, South Africa, on Sunday, July 18, 2010. The couple on board was not injured, but their boat was wrecked. The whale then slid down the boat and back into the water. There are reports the boat was harassing the whale prior to the attack.” – CBS News Site

@ a shop called “The Meadow” in Portland.  Salt, chocolate, and flowers….

Since I’ve been emptying out our DVR almost on daily basis, I had to start recording shows that I don’t usually watch.  America’s Got Talent was one of them, along with ton of shows from NGC, History Channel, Discovery, and shows like “The Big Cat Diary.”  (<- I’m sure this won’t the last time you hear me talk about this show)

It’s a fairly entertaining show and time to time, you realize some people really DO have talent.  Here are few acts from this week that I thought were pretty great.

Luigi Seno singing “Sunday Morning” – Maroon5

Debra Romer singing “Angel” – Sarah McLachlan

(I totally emotional listening to her sing.   I can’t explain why but I felt an emotional brokenness about her.  I really hope she does well. )

Carlos Aponte singing “Il Mare Calmo Della Sera” – Andrea Bocelli

Do I need to explain why I am totally baffled by this?

Curtis told me about this pix during lunch one day.  He was moved to share this pix with right when I was telling him how I wanted a room full of books.  From floor to ceiling.  Karl Largerfeld… Of course I wished I was him for many many many reasons.  But here’s one more reason why I wish I was him!

On Valentine’s Day John and I ventured out to Brooklyn to get some awesome tacos.  While I was trying to take a picture of John’s reflection on the window I noticed this girl staring at me taking the pictures.  Her stare was so intense and direct, I had to take a picture of her.

Snowstorm in Fort Lee, NJ

Here’s an Etsy find.  I am planning an event where mason jars will be used as part of the decor.  In my search of mason jars, I came across these vintage ball jars and I love ’em.  I love the subtle shade of blue, I love the simplistic design and I even love the rusted handles.

I was able to listen to This American Life episode #400 this week.  And in TAL style, it made me chuckle couple of times, think about life & death, and I will probably go around quoting lines from this episode.  The episode was titled “Stories Pitched by Our Parents”.  It was a really great episode.  While listening to this episode, I was naturally coming up with at least 10 different story pitches that I could make to TAL, if I was to ever meet someone from the show.  Alot of quirky things happen to John and I.  People are always telling us that we should be on TV because the stories are so entertaining.

The other morning, John and I were woken up by someone knocking at our door.  Someone wearing a NYPD cap was standing there, looking “official,” asking for me.  John had answered the door and quickly assessed the situation and realized that I was being “served”.  With a lawsuit.  John tried to get rid of the guy and stop him from handing over the paperwork.  After 15 minutes of conversation, the guy ended up dropping the paperwork and just walking away.  Only then did we find out that they JP Morgan was suing “Jung S Kim”.  Needless to say, I am not “Jung S Kim”.  Yes, this is how I started my Tuesday morning…. Does things like this happen to other people?

There’s a good reason why the anchor woman can’t keep a straight face.  The caption on the bottom of the screen reads,  “32 year old unemployed Mr. Park dies after stepping on a Lego.”  Seriously, it makes me feel much better about my life.  Is that wrong?  Yeah…. it probably is!

New York Magazine has an annual list of “Reasons to LOVE New York“.  I don’t know if we need a list every year but it’s always nice to be reminded for me, since I think I forget time to time.  New York is a definitely the best place to be most of the time…

Seriously how cute is this?  Saw this on MOMA store.  Probably not the most practical thing but it’s seriously cute!  Korean food taking over the world man!

How cool are these Marc Jacob’s USB tool?  HMMMMMMM…. maybe you have to be of certain age to really appreciate these?  Well, I LOVE ’em!

I love rings.  These seem super economical since the combination would be endless.  I ❤ that!

Okay, I’m that crazy cat lady.  Happy Holidays from, Snickers, Teffie, Harriett, and Tigger!

So I bought this glass piggy bank for our not so new apt couple of months ago.  I’ve been loving having this new addition at home.  Super cute but it’s soooo fragile that I’m not sure if it will able to survive in our household for a long time.  But as a piggy bank, I think this is as cute as it gets.

Lovely Jen had forwarded me this hilarious yet so right-on article called “How Twilight Works,” on The Oatmeal, after I asked her if she was the author of MylifeisTwilight

Although I agree with majority of the theory on The Oatmeal, I think this is how Twilight really works:

I remember seeing MUJI products at MOMA stores and always thought they were super cool.  Then recently, while visiting my friend Simon’s house in Chelsea area, I discovered the MUJI retail store.  Ohhhhhh Emmmm Gheeeeee!  I think I could’ve spent hours and hours there along with lots of $$$$$$.

But I had some self-control and only bought some slippers to wear around the house for John and I.  I was rather proud of myself but I also discovered that there’s a store right in front of Port Authority.  This probably isn’t a good thing for me and my monthly budget….

I didn’t think I would have to write another Snuggies post but here I am writing another Snuggies post.  Snuggies for pet.  How far would these people go?  What will we see next?  Snuggies for our plants?  Snuggies for babies?  Snuggies for iPhones?  Seriously stop this madness!

…fully done by krislyndesign

Saw this on the news the other morning.  Still trying to figure out if it’s real or not.

Saw this article on TIME titled, “Why Exercise Won’t Make You Thin“.  And it made me really curious since John and I were thinking about starting a P90X this week.  And trust me, the biggest reason why we are doing this is because we want to be thin.  Should I even bother at this point?

alex wears this james perse black tshirt that i LOVE. it’s just a plain black t-shirt but i love the material and i don’t know. i just like when he wears it. it looks good. anyway, i was perusing the site and what do i find?

oohhh wee. the james perse limited edition cruiser. how bad ass does that bike look. something about the matte black is so hot. the black on black on black on black is awesome. they offer it in other colors like white and red and etc. but why bother?????? but too bad, it’s sold out. =(

check it out here.

ok, i’m not really a boat person. i mean, i like the beach and i like going on boats and whatnot but i’m not a fanatic like some people. my life long dream isn’t to own  the biggest sailing boat or a bajillion dollar yacht.

until now …

it’s a bit of a futuristic design from schopfer designs. it’s called the oculus. if you can’t tell, it’s supposed to look like a killer whale which it does.

oooohhhh weeeeeee. i just need to scrounge up from $95 to $140 milllllion dollars. the oculus yacht above is about $90 million. the infinitas yacht below is $140 mill …

no i’m not going to post the outkast video. but have you ever heard of standing a salt shaker on one side? you know, it’s all tilted and whatnot. i’ve always heard that you could do it, blah blah blah. but i never really believed it. it just … doesn’t seem that likely. well john proved me DAMN wrong.

when sung-hee unnie and her people were here, we all went to bar 89 for really late night food. and john started to play with the salt shaker. and  …….

salt shakersalt shaker again

do people remember this?

and everybody thought, “what a dumbass”. which is still true. but have you really thought about his words?

so here’s what he says ..

“There’s an old saying in Tennessee — I know it’s in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on –shame on you. If you fool me — you can’t get fooled again.”

we all know the original is “fool me once, shame on you. fool me twice, shame on me.” we all get it. but after some insight from alex, he’s clearly a smarter man than i thought.

fool me twice, shame on me. that’s just negative. that means you just don’t give people second chances. and when you do, you kick yourself in the head. but you know what, bush leaves it up to interpretation. you can view it as, after the first time you fool me, i’m never going to get fooled again. there’s not even another chance of getting fooled. BAM. bad ass. OR you can follow with the guidelines of original saying. you can think of it as, bush is just a nice guy and gives people a second chance. but if you take advantage of his kindness, then he’s never going to be fooled again.

i personally like the second one. in a world full of mean people, i think bush was just trying subconsciously teach us something. yeah, go ahead. hug a stranger.

city stamps

How cute are these rubber stamps?  I’m not sure if I would buy it but thought they were the coolest things ever.

I got a $20 haircut at the Aveda Institue of New York.  I called them up on Monday and got an appointment for Friday morning.  I totally felt pampered and taken care of.  For $20, I got a scalp massage, a wash, a cut, and a blow dry.  Seriously I think this may be one of the cheapest haircuts I’ve gotten in a really super long time.

It took about an hour and a half.  The place got pretty packed right away.  Service was decent and my stylist was super friendly and helpful.

I decided to bring the bang back from hiatus.  I totally love the hair cut, not so much the body that it’s sitting on.  I wish I could have this haircut on the younger/thinner me.

Okay, so I am a HUGE fan of Run’s House.  Couple of weeks ago I found out his address and was very tempted to go stalk his house until they let me in and make me part of their family.  One of my dearest buddies, Gian, suggested that it was a fantastic idea.  So I knew nothing good could come out of it.

Anywho, so this Diggy character, who is probably 13 years old has a blog that I can’t stop reading.  The more I read and the more I see the stuff that he’s posting on his blog, I am really beginning to question whether he’s

  1. actually 13 because the sense of style this kid has is freaking out of this world
  2. writing all this stuff because he seems to have such wide range of interest (fashion, music, sports,  and even architecture)
  3. where he finds the time and the energy to blog so much

Regardless, I love the fact that he has very similar style/taste as me and I totally apprecitate his point of view.

do you really sip simon?

do you really sip simon?

FREESTYLE LOVE SUPREME DUDES taking over streets of NYC.  You gotta love it.  These are the type of things make me fall in love with NYC all over again and again.

Seriously, these Kanye West x Louis Vuitton Footwear look totally mad cool but I probably wouldn’t be able to afford the tissue paper it gets wrapped in….

this was at some korean frozen yogurt place in fort lee.  i thought it was just so random….

Saw Bangkok Dangerous with Nicolas Cage this weekend along with 10 other films.  The only really memorable thing about the movie was this watch.  It’s made by a company called V-Tec, which no long is in business.  Very unfortunate, since the watch is pretty awesome.

I am pretty sure the Transporter movies were based on these BMW Films.  When I was first introduced to these films by a good buddy, I couldn’t stop obsessing over them.  These films made me also become a huge Clive Owen fan.

“The Follow” is one of my favorite due to the beautiful music, scenery and cinematography.  There about 8 short films, featuring stars like Forest Whitaker, Mickey Rourke, Madonna, Don Cheadle, James Brown, Marilyn Manson, and many others.   You should totally check them out on Youtube

At Laguna Beach after Pageant of Masters

…to wear this coat from Mackage

Whenever the new VW commercial comes on, I actually slow down the entire commercial so that I could fully enjoy the beautiful houses that are in the background.  John gets super annoyed whenever I do this but I just LOVE these Eichler homes.  I totally heart the clean lines, simple and elegant architecture, and can’t get over how inviting these homes are.  It always makes me wonder why there aren’t these type of homes in Bergen County, NJ!!!!!

The annual IAC soiree.  The sun is going down but the party has just begun for the rest of us.

At a poker nite at our company.  Inevitably all these beer will be gone before the nite is over and Gina/I will have to make a beer run….

So I heard about this bank error on Today’s show.  It’s basically about a man named Leo Gao who received over $6 million in his bank account in error and instead of notifying the bank, he decided to flee the country with his girl friend Kara Young with the money.  Then I found out he is KOREAN!!!!! WTF?????  Seriously, why I am hearing so much about Koreans in the news?  It sucks since it’s usually something bad.

This isn’t a photoshopped pix.  It’s Zachary Boyd wearing his “i love ny” boxers while defending against the Taliban.  I can’t imagine what would’ve happened if they were captured or something and the conversation that might’ve taken place between the Taliban soliders.  I’m certain at least few Taliban soldiers would’ve totally chuckled.  You could read the actual speech by Bob Gates here talking about Zachary in NYtimes.

Mr. Blain

Mr. Blaine

This is David Blaine hanging upside down in Central Park, NY.  I wanted to ask him how this was magic.

Saw this article called “A Chili Sauce to Crow About,” in NYTIMES.  It says that Sriracha has more than 120,000 fans on Facebook.  That’s how you know you’ve arrived in the world!

Another funny one that still makes me laugh.

Saw this couple of months ago but it’s sooooo incredibly true!

I totally want this watch.  I always wore men’s watch and recently I had to give it up to John because his watch broke.  So now I’m back to my Nike running watch, although I don’t run.  I love digital watches since it’s super convenient to tell time.  Maybe it’s a sign of my laziness?

On a serious note, how fabulous is this watch?  I always wanted one in the 80’s but never had the guts to buy one.  Now I really want one.  I even love the fact that it’s called a “DATA BANK“….  C’mon that’s hilarious!

old school
old school

This is in front of Alcove in LA.  Alcove was recommended by Claudia while back and whenever I go back to LA, I pencil it in my schedule to make sure I stop by.  I couldn’t believe something this old existed in LA.  Totally cool.

ebbaflicker…your boyfriend’s shirt whenever you want with Ebba Flicker Candles (it’s 100% soy!)

Saw this mug and it made me think about my hubby.  He used to bring home mugs from the office because the handle fit 4 fingers.  For those of you who didn’t know this, they actually make the handle different sizes.  So whenever I travel to a different city, as a souvenir, I used to bring home mugs that can fit 4 fingers.  Even my friends would get in on the hunt.  Then I saw this mug!

at the Walden pond

at the Walden pond

My cousin’s family actually lives only couple of miles from the Walden Pond.  Visited last fall and someone had climbed over the fence to make this at the edge of the pond.  Either that or there are some really smart animals living at the pond.

I want to get this “OMG” necklace from Etsy and just constantly point to it intead of saying it out loud.  Like the plaque that I wanted to get for my desk at work that said, “it’s not in the budget.”  And maybe I could get one for Gina that would either say, “WTF” or “High-5?”

Tshirt I found on Etsy.  I like this shirt for couple of reasons.

  1. the expression on the man’s face
  2. the semi-jazz hands
  3. the “neutral” emoticon, which is my favorite in the universe.

AUDI R8.  John and I have owned an Audi for the past 5 years.  We LOVE our car and we’ve also gained a rew respect for german engineering.  I think we would most likely own an Audi for the rest of our lives.

That’s right another Paul Frank product that I just love but probably won’t buy.  But how cool are these bikes?  Almost that retro look that I just adore!

GOODNESS GRACIOUS. i don’t know anything about cars. but i wouldn’t mind driving this badboy around. check out more at

I finally got around to seeing the Twilight movie the other week.  Of course it wasn’t as good as the book but I literally gasped when Edward Cullen appeared on screen the first time.   The acting was bad and there was no chemistry between Edward and Bella.  Casting for the rest of the characters was horrible at best.  But seriously, ask me if I cared… I mean just look at this man!

I love taking pix so I am always fascinated by all things photography.  Here are some vintage cameras that I found on Etsy.  Pretty fantastic.

somewhere in ATL

This was in the middle of Atlanta somewhere.  While visiting my parents, my cousin’s family ahead of us lead us astray.  But it was a beautiful road on a beautiful day.

wishful thinking at the venetian

wishful thinking at the venetian

Some random fountain at the Venetian in Las Vegas.  Initially I didn’t realize that these were actual coins cause there was so much of it.  If you squint, it just looks like a really incredibly beautiful combination of colors.  So purrrrrrrty.

I heard this morning that some lady working at Ernst and Young has been diagnosed with the infamous swine flu.  So in order to deal with the situation, they’ve given the employees working in her building to work from home for the time being.

So basically my plan would be for Jeff to get the “symptoms” of the swine flu and would go around the building displaying these symptoms until someone suggests that he gets tested.  And since it takes couple of days for the test results to come back, hopefully we have enough paranoid people in the building for the building to shut down and for me to work from home.  Jeff would be the ideal candidate since he goes to every floor, at least couple of times a day, touching everything.  This would ensure that the entire building shut down as a precaution.  Even though CKB is on his fabulous vaca in Europe, I KNOW he could would through and make this happen for us.  And yes, there’s a solid chance that CKB would be choking on his sangria as he scrambles to make this happen, but this is the cost that he will have to pay for the greater good!   Such a solid plan!  Don’t worry CKB, I’ll treat you to korean food….

Bunch of friends forwarded me this article from CNN, asking me to write about it because they felt like the truth needed to be told.  And although this concept/theory does not apply to all single women and of course there are plenty happy single women out there, apparently there plenty of these types of women out there as well.

And YES, I know some single women who are just MISERABBBLLLLLEEEEEE.  And because they are hating life, they try to make others feel their pain and smear s*** on the fact that I’m married and relatively happy for most part.   Maybe  they just need to get “some” or maybe they need to find a way to redirect their energy and attention to something other than their job and close friends, because it’s really frustrating being around these types of women and it’s completely emotionally draining!

Are all married women happy? Of course not.  Look at our national divorce rate.  Am I always happy of course not.  But I don’t try to manipulate every situation, over think every conversation, and pretend to be something that I am clearly not.

ps.  the pix of natasha bedingfield at a concert in AC last year that I went to.  she seemed super happy to be single but here’s a song that she wrote that made me think about these types of women!

favorite yellow thing i own - my hogan bag

Me: Honey, I need to go shopping to release some stress

Hubby:  Okay, good, we need some stuff from Costco

Me:  Dude… not that kind of shopping!

So I bought this bag and few other things that day.  I ADORE this bag.

this is several days late. but i just found it and i think it’s awesome.

courtesy of geekologie. check out the website. it’s got some pretty awesome content.

That’s right.  Second post regarding Mr. Henney.  Here’s Daniel Henney singing on a Korean TV show.  And here’s another videos of Mr. Daniel Henney and Gwyneth Paltrow in a Bean Pole commercials.

CLEARLY, I am not plugged into what’s going on in the world as I should be.  I just found out today that Daniel Henney, also known as the best looking Koreanesque man that I am aware of, is in the  X-men movie  as the Agent Zero.  How could I have found out just today?????  Here are some pix of this gorgeous man just in case you’ve been unplugged as I’ve been about certain things in your life, or if you just want to appreciate really really really attractive man!

There’s something so incredibly comforting and heart warming about this store.  A similiar feeling that comes over me whenever I go to Bubby’s.  I came across this website some time ago and I just adore everything from this store.  It almost makes me want to venture out to Brooklyn to check out the actual brick and mortar location.

sightings of real life hipsters can be found in the link below (and brooklyn):

not sure if that’s right. 4 years of french .. and i’m praying that’s right.

so breakfast is what i think the most important meal of the day. i eat a champion breakfast. i’m talking a bowl of special k with banana, an orange, a yogurt, another glass of milk, and a cup of coffee or tea. i try to keep it healthy and load up my energy until lunch. but sometimes, i treat myself.

today, i had pain au chocolat from amy’s bread in chelsea. i work right next to the chelsea market so when i walk from getting off the subway at 14th street, sometimes i stop in for a delicious pastry. today i had my favorite.

i stole the picture above from serious eats but obviously, it’s the one on the right and not left.

allllll finished. note the remainder of my breakfast on the right.

So, I consider myself to be a fairly creative person.  But this type of creativity is a whole different level.  So intricately and beautifully done.  Found this on Etsy of all places… Pretty cool.

is it me or does staying home suck when you’re older?

what happened??

time passes soooo slowly when there’s nothing on tv, no vehicle, and no one to entertain you at home.

is it just me that feels this way???

i need to be saved from 1. liquid cherry medicine 2. bad tv 3. BORREEDDOOMMMM

Another find on Etsy.  Seriously how funny is this?  It makes me wonder who would spend $40 to buy something like this, but at the same time, it looks pretty darn good!

Here’s my gorgeous find from Etsy.  I just wish you could wear these outside.  I’m not sure if I could get myself to spend $50 for something that will be collect cat hair and nobody gets to see….

so a friend of mine and i were talking ..

me: hitler’s b-day’s 420. did you know that?

friend: yeah.. on my way to work, i told my neighbor “happy holidays.” and he went “for what? hitler being born?”

hmmm. a very good point..

the only reason this came up is because of someone’s facebook status. don’t know if i can name names but it’s a friend of a friend.

“4/20 = hitler’s birthday. waco. oklahoma city. columbine. virginia tech.another fbi white supremacist standoff in idaho in the 90s. all within 3 or 4 days from 4/20. why does nobody notice this but me?”

if you don’t know .. maybe it’s best you don’t.

but happy holidays! an entertaining video i found today…

Saw this on TV this morning while I was getting ready for work and thought… “Why didn’t they think of this before?”  If you live in NYC area, metro card is a necessity to function around the city.  But it’s always pain in the neck having to buy a new one when you are in a huge rush to get to work because you are late to work.  And yes, this happens more often than I would like to admit.  So they came up with this really cool idea.  A metro card that works like an ezpass…..

at least on the east coast, i think it’s fair to say that summer dress season has started!

or at least, for this weekend….

look for some summer dresses here.

heard about this on wait wait don’t tell me podcast …

I don’t know who told Lindsay Lohan that she’s funny but clearly… she’s not.  This is an eharmony ad spoof by Ms. Lohan.

if you guys saw last night’s colbert report, you know that NASA’s node 3 is not named colbert but instead named tranquility.

good news is they are naming something else after colbert. their treadmill which will be put up around august. COLBERT will stand for combined operational load bearing external resistance treadmill.

i recently found out that mel gibson and his wife are getting a divorce. my mom LOVES mel gibson. i don’t know if she does anymore but back in the day she would say how handsome he is (mind you, my mom thinks everyone’s unattractive. i mean everybody). but anyway, apparently, mel’s wife could get $500,000,000.

;waihg;aowiehgawe. dang, why couldn’t my mom somehow stalk mel gibson, make him fall in love with her, and close it with some homewrecking …
