Saw this  and I totally had to share.  UP is one of my favorite movies of all time.  And a team from National Geographic’s new show, “How Hard Can It Be?” was cool enough to try this for me

I’ve been a HUGE fan of FAGE yogurt for years now.  Then this morning I saw this commercial and was totally “wowed”.  Such an elegant and poignant way to fully capture my mind/heart!

While watching an episode of Parenthood, I came across this song called “make you feel my love” by Adele.  I’m sure it’s an old song and everybody knows about it but I discovered it for the first time today and have been listening to it for hours….

In the most recent episode of Fringe called “6B’, I learned one of the most fascinating physics theory that I can’t seem to get out of my head.  The theory is called “quantum entanglement”.

Cee Lo’s “Forget You” is one of my favorite songs of all times.  I actually prefer the explicit version of the song more. But last nite at the Grammy’s he came out on the stage in this ridiculous outfit and to top things off lovely Ms. Gwyneth Paltrow joined him in the song as well.  Such great performance….

I recently started to watch this Korean drama called “Secret Garden“.   Prior to watching this drama, I was vaguely able to describe an “ideal” man for me.  YES, I’ve been married for almost 10 years but I can’t help the fact that I still have the ability to appreciate handsome men in the world.

I am so glad Glee is back!

Today Show’s viral video of “dynamite”.  This song always makes me want to throw my hands in the air.

Recently saw this commercial and I was quite smitten by the overall look of the commercial.  Land Rover LR4 is a lovely car as well.

Jen S recently told me that one of our favorite KDrama “Boys before Flowers was on Hulu.  But recently I discovered that Hulu and bunch of other Korean dramas and movies.  I love when my western world collide with my motherland!  Thank you HULU!

Covert Affairs is another show on USA that John and I try to watch on regular basis.  Piper Perabo plays a mildly jaded and intense character named agent Annie Walker.  I’ve always liked Piper since Coyote Ugly.  However there are moments when I get super annoyed watching this show.

Late last nite, while going thru the DVR, came across this little girl on America’s got talent.  She’s only 10 years old and her name is Jackie Evancho.  After watching her sing, I wondered how the other contestants on the show felt about her.  I mean clearly she was sooo incredibly awesome and better than other contestants.

I was really excited to hear that Louis Ck was having his own TV show called “Louie.”  I thought he was hilarious ever since I saw this youtube clip of him on Conan.

I started to see the promotional commercial for “The Apprentice” this past week and I am fully understanding the power of empathy while watching these commercials.   As I am watching these folks get emotional about losing jobs and not having income coming in, I can’t help but to relate and completely connecting with these contestants.

Mad Men is back and everything feels right with the world.  I enjoy this show because I feel as though it slows down my crazy world at least for an hour.  Of course Don Draper is probably one of the most fascinating characters on TV right now and he’s incredibly handsome, so it makes it even more interesting to watch.  I actually have a friend who has a pix of Don Draper as a wallpaper in her phone.   She shall remain anonymous.

On 20/20 this past Friday, they had a segment about fake Christian Louboutin shoes online.   I thought the piece was very informative and didn’t even realize that there were fake “shoes” but I guess it makes total sense.  Afterall, some Christian Louboutin shoes costs more than the purses that I carry around.

I don’t know if I would consider myself the biggest Anthony Bourdain fan, but his show “No Reservations” has been one of my favorite shows for a fairly long time.  I actually became his fan while watching him on Food Network in “Kitchen Confidential.”

I can’t say enough positive things about Nike.  It’s one of my favorite brands and you may already know, I am extremely loyal to the brands that I like.   And today while going thru a potential company I may be working for, I came across another Nike commercial that I just thought was phenomenal….

Since I’ve been emptying out our DVR almost on daily basis, I had to start recording shows that I don’t usually watch.  America’s Got Talent was one of them, along with ton of shows from NGC, History Channel, Discovery, and shows like “The Big Cat Diary.”  (<- I’m sure this won’t the last time you hear me talk about this show)

It’s a fairly entertaining show and time to time, you realize some people really DO have talent.  Here are few acts from this week that I thought were pretty great.

Luigi Seno singing “Sunday Morning” – Maroon5

Debra Romer singing “Angel” – Sarah McLachlan

(I totally emotional listening to her sing.   I can’t explain why but I felt an emotional brokenness about her.  I really hope she does well. )

Carlos Aponte singing “Il Mare Calmo Della Sera” – Andrea Bocelli

Last nite’s Glee episode was one of my favorite so far.  John was getting annoyed at the fact that I was singing along with all the Madonna songs.  It was a perfect combination of my favorite TV show with Madonna.  I don’t really need to elaborate right? 🙂  But just in case you actually need some convincing, here’s a video of Sue Sylvester as Madonna  in the iconic Vogue music video.  And here’s a TVguide cover of the cast paying homage to Madonna.

I don’t know if I’ll ever get sick of this song.  Just saw this on Today Show and Good Day New York.  Funny thing is, Greg and Rosanna commented “awww, look the kid is crying because he doesn’t want to hear this song anymore….. I don’t know why this video is viral.”  I couldn’t believe they completely missed the joke!

GLEEEEEEEEE!  Really looking forward to having Glee back in my life in the near future.  But this Rolling Stones cover, I LOVE!

I have been watching Ellen everyday this year.  Then today I came across these unbelievably gorgeous wedding pictures from her wedding.  Not only is she one of the funniest people on TV, she and I apparently have same taste.  I think if she had asked me to plan her wedding(which btw is very unfortunate she didn’t), I don’t think I would’ve changed anything about her wedding.  And let’s also focus on the fact that she had her wedding cake done by Sweet Lady Jane.  And believe you me, I’ve called this place the best bakery in the UNIVERSEEEEE…..

John and I have been watching a lot of Olympics.  But since we don’t want to be blind sided by spoilers on the web and on the news, we’ve been watching most of it live.  This means, no skipping thru the commercials like we usually do.  But time to time, that’s not such a bad thing.  Serendipitously I came across this commercial that wove images which provoked raw human emotions together with artistic execution that was flawless.  Nike… did it again!

I recently started to make time to watch Ellen everyday.  Watching her show at the of a long day is actually theraputic for me.   I had forgotten how funny, witty, and incredibly generous she is.   Sometimes, I sit around laughing by myself watching her show, and yes, my cats stare at me give me funny looks.  And today Ellen celebrated her 1100th show.  Congratulations to her and her awesome show.

Google’s TV ad.  I don’t know if there are any other Google TV ads but this was so sweet and so poignant.  Clearly this was one of my favorite ads of the nite.

Dodge Charger commercial called “A Man’s Last Stand.”   Michael C Hall’s voice brought the ad to a whole new level IMO.

White Collar.  Another show that John and enjoy watching.  Yes, our DVR is usually at 65% capacity, if not more.  And honestly I don’t even think I’m ashamed of it.  Yes, I watch ton of TV and I’m fairly proud of it….

Anywho, White Collar is a show on USA with the main character name Neal Caffrey.   I’ve always LOVED spy-themed stories.  Read pretty much all of Robert Ludlum books.  But I think I generally speaking, I enjoy “smart” characters.  Smart thieves, smart spies, smart cons, smart villains, and etc.  In one of my favorite movies of all time, “The Usual Suspect” Kevin Spacey’s character is the epitome of an anti-hero.  I LOVE that.  I don’t care what side you’re on as long as you’re able to outsmart and outwit all the characters in the story.  Neal Cafferty is a bit like that.

But more importantly, can we take a moment to just focus on him for moment?  Seriously he is handsome enough for me to watch the show, even if the show was horrible, and his character was dumb as a nail.  However, to my benefit, the show is actually pretty decent.  A master criminal solves crimes.  Yes, it’s not a novel idea.  But the show definitely brings something “new” to the old idea and the acting is really pretty decent.  And once again, let’s focus on Mr. Neal Caffrey…

Okay, this is wrong and funny at the same time.  It’s too funny I have to share.  Gotta love MadTV.  And here’s another one that I thought was pretty hilarious and rather ironic from MadTV/Apple combo.

Okay I watch a lot of TV.  But Anthony Bourdain is one of my favorite shows in the universe.  Saw this clip on his recent visit to Panama and I am always fascinated by what he decides to put on his show.  I obviously had a lot more questions about cocaine after this clip than I ever did in my entire life.  Seriously, this would never happen on Food Network so I am super glad that he’s on the Travel Channel.  Anthony Bourdain – No Reservations is so much more than just a food show.

Rachel Yang, a chef from Seattle area was recently on the Iron Chef battling Iron Chef Garces.  She is the chef at Joule in Seattle and her Korean background has definitely influenced her cooking style.  I am always shocked to see how main-stream Korean food has become and it was good seeing a Korean chef being represented on the Iron Chef.

Here are few reasons why the group Nota won and why they deserved to win on Sing-Off!

Saw this couple of months ago on 60 Minutes and it really freaked me out.  I think I’m a fairly impressionable and something like this will get my imaginations going till the end of time.  John thinks I’m being paranoid for no reason but 60 Minutes told me to be scared!  You could watch the full clip here on CBS.

Okay I have 2 groups that I am really rooting for on the new show on NBC called “The Sing-Off“.  First is a group called Nota.  Nota is clearly the best group on this show without a doubt.  And the other group is called Maxx Factor.  I really want to see them do well on this show because they are clearly the underdog of the show.  I mean look at the way they are dressed on the show while the other groups are totally DECKED-OUT!~  It’s like the producers put them in these oufits just so that they could be made fun of or something.  What gives man?????

Anywho,  here’s a taste of what you may be missing if you’re not watching this show.  Here’s an awesome performance by Nota.  That’s right “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz!

So in case you are having Glee withdrawals, NBC has your next best thing.  It’s a show called “the sing-off“.  It totally sounds like they rounded up really talented folks and the show should be super entertaining.  My Mondays are looking interesting again….

hahahaaaaaa. does anyone love this show except for me? i know you all do (if you’ve watched it). if you haven’t seen it, SERIOUSLY. you need to check it out. you will fall in love.

i know i know. the show’s mad offensive to italians across the world. i feel for you. but i can’t help that it makes for really …interesting tv. i had to think about how to say good but not use the word good. because i’ll be honest, the show is crap. it’s probably the dumbest show i’ve ever watched. but that’s also the big reason it’s so good. and what does that say about me? not much. i, too, fall for very bad television.

i pretty much grew up in jersey but never really knew any serious “guidos” and “guidettes”. ok, before i continue. i didn’t even know the word guidette existed until now. i find the word pretty hilarious. so anyway, guidos and guidettes have always been a myth and a legend to me. and i was SUPER curious to see what their life was like. if 8 of them lived in house to find out what happens when people stop being polite. and start getting real. so mtv got together 8 people and threw them in a jersey shore home and filmed them during the summer. and the jersey shore was born.

all i have to say is.. if the below doesn’t make you want to tune in… you’re just a better person than i am ..

thursdays at 10pm on mtv.

Wanted to post some videos from the season finale of Glee.  But wasn’t able to find decent video of the songs that I wanted.  Instead, here’s a cute Gap kids commercial that I saw during Glee tonite.

Modern Family – One of the funnier shows on TV these days.  And this episode was pretty hilarious.  Then of course, I couldn’t get Glee’s version of “gold digger” out of my head for literally hours….

I don’t know why I found this so funny but I totally thought this new A&E show called “Steven Seagal:Lawman” was a spoof.

ep78-main-monday_novideo

Ari…. seriously….. HR nitemare but quite entertaining to see him run around in his insanity mode.  If you haven’t seen the episode, this is a spoiler alert.  Ari goes around the newly acquired company, literally “firing” paintball at the employees that he doesn’t want anymore.  The employees are running around in terror, wondering if they’ll be Ari’s next target. I’m sure this would be the most traumatizng way to get fired

I’ve never watched a single episode of Dexter till this weekend.  I knew the general premise of the show but nothing in detail.  Based on what I knew about the show, I was totally blown away by the intro of the show.  They managed to visually capture the true essence of the character and the entire plot within this 2 min intro.  What’s even more out of this world crazy is that, they told a simple story of a “morning routine” while visually telling us who Dexter is. It’s just freaking amazing and disturbing at the same time.

My favorite shows coming together in the most poignant way.

Here’s my favorite quote from this week’s GLEE.  Kristin Chenoweth was guest star and played a character named April.  Like the quirky character she played in the beloved Pushing Daisies, she was soooo good!

April: “Your lack of imagination astounds me.  This is the only the beginning.  If you can master this, you can sneak anything out of a store between your knees.  Shoes, prom dresses.  I almost got a cake out of a kid’s bday party, with the candle still lit!”

475x220

How does Whitney manage to always attract the “crazies”?  Roxy is trashy, a liar, and nothing more.  But seriously, can we focus on Olivia?  How entertaining is OLIVIA?  Of course she’s going to have a hard time coordinating an outfit with $25 budget.  She is carrying around Hermes Birkin everywhere she goes….  Clearly MTV made a mistake, Whitney shouldn’t have her own show, Olivia should.

me: Olivia is a socialite.  She probably doesn’t need this job and that’s why she feels like she could talk like that to her boss.

John: You could tell she’s a socialite.  Did you notice how she said didn’t say, “we spent a lot of time,” but she said “we spent ‘quite’ a lot of time.”  That says something about her….

475x220

Totally unintentionally, I watched the “The Hills” tonight.  First thought was, “how come I didn’t know that it was starting tonight?”  Then immediately afterwards, I was like, “Was Kristin such a bitch on Laguna?”  Seriously, I used to watch Laguna Beach and I DON’T remember Kristin being such a bitch.  Did I miss something?  Oh man, Kristin really brought The Hills to another level.  Guilty pleasures… Ahhhhhh…. THE HILLSSSSS!

This is why I can’t stop watching Korean dramas.  Theme songs like this lure me into the cheesy and predictable plot with unnaturally handsome men, who dress really well, and they fall in love with the girl who has nothing.  What women wouldn’t like that?  Although “Style” was a little different and very much like “Devil Wears Prada”ish.

I’ve been watching Mad Men on and off for couple of years now.  But this season, I am totally hooked.  Then I watched the opening intro to the show for the first time this week and I was totally mesmerized.

It really, truly, and wholly captures the essence of the show.  I LOVE that.  It’s genius, just like Don Draper.

That’s right, Beyonce’s “single ladies” was on Glee in 2 different version tonight.  Seriously, I don’t know if I’ll ever get enough of this song.  But I agree with my buddy Katherine, single girls should NOT be using this as their anthem when going out for a girl’s nite out.

Just saw the season premiere of House.  And once again, my real world crossing paths with my tv world.  Lin-Manuel was a quirky character on the show.  Fairly certain it’s not a recurring character but it was good to see him regardless.  And yes, I also concluded that House is 100x better than Heroes.

UntitledSimon Rex in Rex in LA…when you have thirty minutes

slide_2708_37989_large

John and I usually don’t watch Big Brother. But the other nite, I was totally capitvated by the strange outfit that Julie Chen was wearing,  and that made us watch good 30 minutes of this show.  Seriously what was she thinking?  I thought she was married to some rich dude.  She couldn’t afford to get more fashionable thing to wear on a national TV than this Snuggies wannabe dress? C’mon!

Last nite’s episode of Glee was pretty Gleesome!   John was yelling at me for wanting to start the episode while he was cleaning up after dinner.  Apparently he feels like he needs to be super focused to watch this show.  I understand, cause I kind of feel like that as well.

So my dear friend Grace L was nice enough to share some memorable lines from last nite’s episode of Glee and I HAD to share!

  • ” Josh and I have become frequent penpals since he accidentally friended me on MySpace” – Sandy
  • ” i’m going to have to ask you to smell your armpits.  that’s the smell of failure. ” – Sue
  • ” i play guitar and.. actually a really good singer. … there are lots of moms at your gigs, right?”  – Puck
  • “dude, my bowels have better moves than you” – Puck
  • ” what’s wrong with me?  what’s wrong with me is that you’re freakishly tall!!   i feel like a WOODLAND creature!” – Dakota Stanley
  • ” He’s here!  Josh Grobin is here!  Front row, big brown eyes, cute as a buttermilk biscuit!   I barfed.”  – Sandy
  • ” Throngs of screaming teenagers don’t do it for Josh Grobin.  Josh Grobin loves a blousy alcoholic.” – Josh Grobin

My new obsession, GLEE!  Here are some of the songs from this week’s show.  Kanye West’s “Gold Digger”, Rhiana’s “Take a Bow“, the song from My best friend’s wedding, “Say a little prayer for you.”  Seriously, you’re not watching this show, you’re really missing out on pure entertainment. (the video quality isn’t all that great)

John and I watched this episode of No Reservation couple of nites ago.  And I swear to you, HE turned to me and said, “we should keep this episode so we could go check all these places out.”  This is why I LOVE this man!

Emmy’s Award hosted by Neil Patrick Harris!  Barney!!!!!!!!!!

High School Musical (the first one) meets Bring it On (the first one).  Seriously, do I need to go any further?  This pilot episode had my playlist: On My Own, Leaving on a Jet Plane, Rehab, and even a little bit of Vivaldi!  The first episode is tonight and I literally cannot wait.  I am making John watch the pilot online so he could fully appreciate the goodness of this show.  This is a definite must on my DVR and I probably will keep the episodes so I could watch them on a rainy day!

Okay so I haven’t been following America’s Best Dance Crew, aka ABDC as much as I’ve been in previous seasons.  But this past week was pretty awesome.  Each week they have a challenge and this week was the BOLLYWOOD week.  Okay, how much do I LOVE that stuff?  Baz Luhrmann was inspired by Bollywood to create such beautiful flicks like Moulin Rouge… nuff said!

IGN Video: How I Met Your Mother TV Clip – Barney On The Price Is Right

So I’ve been obsessing about my new favorite show in the world for the past 2 weeks.  Started off so innocently with Jen S offering to let me borrow the first season of “How I Met Your Mother.”    And honestly John and I really haven’t been able to watch anything else since we started watching these DVDs….

Then yesterday, as my husband and I are going thru the 2nd season, my favorite show of all time collided with my new favorite show.  That’s right folks, PRICE IS RIGHT and HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER!!!!!

Barney, aka a friend I wish I had in my life, has also become one of my favorite TV characters of all time as well.  And I hear myself going around saying things like, “Give me Five!”, “Lengen…. wait for it…. dary!”, and “Have you met Ted?”…. I wish almost everyday that I had a friend like BARNEY STINSON!

Anywho, in this particular episode, you find out that when Barney was little, his dear mother had told him that Bob Barker was his biological father.  So he is on this quest to get on Price is Right.  Here’s a small clip from the episode.  I wish I could share the entire episode cause it’s soooooo freaking AWESOME!

kings_header

So last nite, John and I watched a “Kings” episode titled the “final episode.”  It still left bunch of questions unanswered but from what we’ve read, this might’ve been the series finale.

After some digging around, John mentioned that each episode costs $4m to make and the show is only generating $2m.  Trust me, I work with numbers, that’s not a good sign.  This show has become one of my favorites on TV and I am deeply sadden to see it go.  RIP “Kings!”

has anyone seen the starburst commercial with the scottish koreans? haha. i don’t know if it’s old or not but i saw it for the first time yesterday with alex. it’s really funny ..

aside from the fact that it’s referencing koreans (or scottish koreans), the whole commercial is hilarious from the accent, the theme, etc. etc. i recommend you watch it. even better, watch it with alex because the way he quotes it and laughs makes you laugh too.

a contradiction eating another..

I’ve been saying this for YEARS.  Why can’t they get REAL Korean actors who can speak Korean like REAL Koreans?????? Funny thing, the actress Yun Jin Kim grew up in the states. And out of everyone in this scene, she’s the only one who sounds like a native Korean.

The thing is, I’m sure there are plenty of starving Korean actors who would LOVE to put LOST on their resume.  Why not give those people the chance?  It always upsets me when I see actors playing Korean parts who are clearly NOT Korean.  WTF.

But don’t you worry, I found out today that this kind of WTFness is not just with Koreans.  My Russian buddy Olga informs me that this happens all the time with Russian characters as well.  Apparently, Matt Damon’s(as Jason Bourne) Russian was perfect and Ben Affleck’s (as Jack Ryan) sucked!

gwyneth_paltrow_legs_m

Saw this last night on Conan with John.  I couldn’t believe how shiny Gwyneth Paltrow’s legs were.  Then John told me about the “controversy.”

king_109_09

“My family… always in my heart but in my eye.  May the time apart enrich the time spent together.  May there be enough love left over until the next time we join hands.”

This is the prayer that King Silas prayed for his ‘”second family” before dinner.  This is why I LOVE this show.  It’s refreshing because we don’t hear this kind of language around us these days.  I truly heart this show.

NUP_130748_0063

This is for my westcoast buddies.  This is what you’re missing out on.  I promise you, listen to it at least 2 times.  You won’t be able to get it out of your head…..

So for awhile, I was totally obsessed with this show called “the avatar: the last airbender“.  I’ve heard rumors about the movie in production and yesterday for the first time, I saw the trailer for the movie.  I am already excited for this movie to come out next year!  Don’t fail me M. Night Shyamalan!!!!!!

NICKELODEON AVATAR ANIME

Last_Airbender_Movie

John says to me time to time, “If somebody told me 15 years ago that we would have an entire channel devoted to food and that I would have to pay $5 for coffee, I would’ve laughed at their face!”  Food Network is one of my favorite channels on TV.  But usually I don’t cringe or get disgusted watching Food Network.  But here was one of those moments.

Stevie Famulari is this lady’s name.  I KNOW I could make nicer looking things than her.  I am wondering how she managed to get on TV!!!!!

kings-nbc-tv-silas-gilboa-david-2009-2

So we watched another new episode of “the kings” on NBC the other night.  I truely LOVE this show.  I love the drama, the characters, and most of all, the writing.  The characters speak so properly, it totally makes me feel ghetto.  I also love the fact that it’s somewhat Biblical.

Heidi and Spencer (speidi)on Today Show.  I think every time these two talk, it’s so insane, that it’s hilarious.  And on a side note, I can’t say that I’m surprised to hear that Heidi will be posing for Playboy.

060609_Flash_Flood_Trial_IAC_031

Here’s the thing.  Someone needs to tell Janice Dickinson that she’s on a tv show with cameras.  Cameras that could record in the dark.  Cameras that could record when everyone’s asleep.  Cameras that will record all your actions.  Cameras that will record what you do and broadcast to the rest of the world.

Janice lies.  Lies alot.  And she also urinated all over the camp that they sleep and spend all their time at.  Not only that, she steals and eats everyone else’s food.  Then LIES about it on camera.  And says, “why would they blame me????”  Seriously, is she being serious?  It’s just mind boggling how she could just lie without even blinking her eye….

Oh yes, and John totally thinks she looks like the Joker on this show.  This woman is not aging well.

yes yes yes. you read right. zack morris was on the late night show with jimmy fallon. literally. mark paul gosselaar came onto the show to promote his show, raising the bar, but came on as zack morris. and wow. he really looks like he hasn’t aged one bit. i’m sure they spray tanned him and whatnot but he looks the same. and if you’re a big saved by the bell fan like i am, you’ll appreciate all the classic references in the clip.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

and apparently, jimmy fallon is trying to host a saved by the bell reunion on his show. and so far, it looks like he’s got a lot of people. i’m crossing my fingers!

003948_speidilostcham

I am usually freaking out when I’m watching this show since I hate frogs, bugs, snakes, lizards, spiders, and all the other creepy creatures that these people are having to deal with on reguarly basis.  But more importantly, here are some quotables from tonight’s show.

  • Spencer using his name as a verb… “You don’t want to see me Spence Out.”
  • John Salley officially called this show “Jesus Camp”
  • Spencer uttering the words “I decided to think before I talk….” – My hubby thought that one was really funny
  • Spencer yelling and screaming in the middle of the jungle, “Jesus can you hear us!!!! Of course you can!!!”

Sanjaya…. this kid is really entertaining.  He is trying to communicate with the jungle animals.  He is making crafts, furniture, tools and other things with materials he is finding in the jungle.  And he is just overall super happy kid.

Speidi is officially off the show again.  But I’m not sure if I totally buy that.  I would not be surprised if they walk back on to the camp site.

Just in case you were wondering, as a Christian, yes, I do find it really annoying that Heidi and Spencer are going around yelling religious things around the camp.  I feel like if you are a true Christian, you don’t have to go around pushing religion/God in people’s faces….

114_060109_Angela_Frustraded_from_Loss_IAC

Angela V. Shelton got voted off on “i’m a celebrity get me out of here” last nite.  She is a really funny woman and I am definitely going to miss having her on the show.  I think one of the funniest thing I’ve seen on the show was when she was talking to herself, and realized she was talking to herself, and had to slap herself around because she realized she was talking to herself…. I think that’s a sign that she’s relatively normal.

So we are getting to know a lot about Janice Dickinson.  She spits everywhere and she’s a klepto.  What’s up with that???? And no, they haven’t decided whether they will be bringing back Heidi and Spencer yet.  I’m voting yes, just for entertainment value alone….

celebrity_682_653227a

I’m a celebrity get me out of here!‘ is PURE entertainment in sooo many different levels.  John and I just watched the first 3 episodes back to back and even John laughed out loud couple of times.  Trust me, that’s a really rare thing.  Here are some memorable moments from the show.

HEIDI and SPENCER.  SPEIDI… I don’t even know where to begin with this.  Spencer is an ass and because he’s an ass, it’s HILARIOUS on the show.  Here are some memorable moments of Heidi and Spencer so far.

NUP_135040_0001

  1. Heidi and Spencer already walked out of the show 3 times and came back.
  2. Spencer got baptized in the river by Stephen Baldwin before walking off one more time.
  3. The other celebrities decided to split Heidi and Spencer’s items after they walked off, and when they came back, Heidi cried and cried because they took the label off of her hair spray.
  4. Heidi and Spencer prayed for Patti Blagojevich while holding hands.
  5. Spencer “faking” the other contestants or as he calls them, his “servants”.
  6. Heidi claiming that the “devil” got them to leave the show for the 3rd time on Live TV.
  7. Spencer losing a challenge because he ate the garnish as well as the bug.
  8. Heidi/Spencer/Sanjaya doing the fire dance  around the camp fire.
  9. Heidi and Spencer sleeping with their mouths open in a hammock as the othere celebrities were taking pictures of them.

And it goes on and on and on and on.  And yes, John Salley cried because Janice Dickenson wouldn’t accept his apology….   This show got me out of my mourning period of Fringe’s season being over.

I think I just might have to give a daily update on this show.  Too entertaining not to.  Did I mention that Gina and I actually met one of the contestants on the show?

n615571544_1034442_8655

first of all. i had no idea the tonight show starts at 11:35pm. which means the late night show starts at 12:35am. wtf. i can’t believe i watch tv that late.

i started off watching the colbert report for a couple of minutes. hilarious. for those of you who watch the colbert report, you guys know that colbert report goes on at 11:30pm.

i actually watched the whole episode online and it was awesome. i recommend checking it out at colbertnation.com.

back to the tonight show with conan. i watched it with alex last night because he’s got the HD and the 90375928353inch screen. ….oh. and i enjoy his company. …. … .. …… but anyway. the lineup included will ferrell and pearl jam. will ferrell’s always a great guest. super funny. but pearl jam. i don’t know. i thought that was weird. i don’t listen to pearl jam; so for me, it wasn’t so exciting. oh well.

i (well, this was more alex’s concern but i’m stealing it. i’ll include a works cited below) was worried that conan might switch up his comedy because now he was on the tonight show. but thankfully, that wasn’t the case. it was still the goofy awkward comedy conan brings every night. and i liked it. from the intro of running from nyc to ca, monologue, universal tour guide, etc. etc., it was great. will ferrell was obviously a fantastic guest. just watch the video. pearl jam. ehh. to be honest, i don’t remember them at all. i think i was …distracted when they were on.

and can we talk about his hair??? i don’t know what’s in the california air but there’s definitely more umpf in his hair.

anyway i look forward to more episodes for sure.

**eff the works cited. i’ll admit to plagiarism.

i’ve been waiting for this night forever. no offense, i think jay’s funny and all but conan’s definitely more up my alley. so i’m stoked conan o’brien’s getting this opportunity to host the tonight show. i’m not sure what all of america’s going to think about him because he’s definitely different from jay leno. i feel like jay leno definitely appeals to the masses while conan has a niche (large niche) group. oh well. as long as i’m happy, not too concerned about other people’s options for comedic relief. anyway, it’s on tonight and i’m stoked! i just have to figure out what time the tonight show’s really on.

I wasn’t going to do it out of respect for her kids but after seeing the hairstyle from a side profile, I cannot stay quiet about Kate Gosselin’s hairstyle.  I’ve never really watched the show before and was not really interested.  But since I am as impressionable as a Pillsbury Doughboy, after being bombarded with the non-stop “Jon and Kate plus 8” over the weekend, I’ve succumb to the dark side and watched the season premiere of the show.

But sadly, I couldn’t really focus on the show at all, because I was so distracted by Kate’s hairstyle.  SERIOUSLLLYYY, WTF!  It’s like 3 different hairstyle happening on one head. And her Staten Island highlighs just makes the whole look even more… unexplainable.  C’MON!  Somebody should really tell this woman to do somethinga bout her hair.  It’s just R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S!

Just found “See What Stars Look Like With Kate Gosselin’s Hair!” on Us Weekly.  Pretty hilarity!

Whenever the new VW commercial comes on, I actually slow down the entire commercial so that I could fully enjoy the beautiful houses that are in the background.  John gets super annoyed whenever I do this but I just LOVE these Eichler homes.  I totally heart the clean lines, simple and elegant architecture, and can’t get over how inviting these homes are.  It always makes me wonder why there aren’t these type of homes in Bergen County, NJ!!!!!

I haven’t watched a full episode of American Idol since the first season.  Just lost a total interest.  Then I heard this morning that 100 million people voted for this winner.  REALLY?  HUNDRED MILLION????  That’s 1/3 of the US.  That’s just insane!

Here’s Kris Allen singing “heartless” by Kanye West, one of my favorite song this past year thanks to Gina.  I actually kind of like it.  I think he does a pretty decent job.  Good for him.

My buddy Jen recently posted on her blog an “open letter” to the Gosselin.  I thought it was too entertaining not to share.  I totally HEART the sentence about the “4 US Weekly” covers…. NICE!

First heard about Dr. Horrible when we went to “this american life” live couple of weeks back.  You could actually watch Dr. Horrible’s blog on line on Hulu.  It was created by Mr. Joss Whedon, the man behind such cultish shows like: “Buffy the Vampire Slayer“, “Angel“, “Firefly“, and “Dollhouse.”  Really clever and cute and catchy….

As I watched the season finale of “big bang theory” with John, I couldn’t believe that one thing that I hate more than anything, okay, that’s not true, just something that really bothers me have invaded one of my favorite show on tv.  SNUGGIES!!!!!!!!!!

twintowers

The season finale of Fringe was so beautifully and brilliant executed as usual.  The timeless sci-fi question of  parallel universe / alternate universe / multiple universe was addressed in the best way that I’ve seen done in a really long time.  Superman had his Bizarro World and Fringe has it’s “sweet spots” to travel to the alternate universe.  I am beginning to wonder if JJ Abrams is taking this whole alternate universe/time travel a bit too far with his projects since LOST and Star Trek was all over this stuff.  Doesn’t he realize that the die-hard Sci-Fi fans would just eat him alive because it only opens doors for more questions than answers?

nypost

The last scene of the season finale was the revealing of Leonard Nimoy as William Bell and agent Dunham realizing that she was standing in one of the Twin Towers still standing.  New York Post front page indicates that the White House was destroyed not the World Trade center, stock market has been closed for 21 days (from possible attack), and JFK didn’t die in an assassination in Dallas.  Eerie and super cool at the same time.  What a way to end the season!

I promise this will be the last Star Trek/Chris Pine related post.  At least for the day….

jack tight shot wall

Mr. Keifer Sutherland seems to get into alot of trouble out in the real world.  It makes me wonder if it’s because he maybe, possibly believes that he’s really Jack Bauer inside.  So the story goes, Mr. Sutherland actually head-butted someone at a bar in NYC.  He didn’t punch the guy, he didn’t choke the guy, he didn’t kick the guy, he HEAD-BUTTED the guy.  It made me wonder if Mr. Sutherland was screaming out, “Do you know who I am?  I am Jack Bauer!  I protected Presidents,  saved countless American lives from various forms of potential terrorist attacks, and I KNOW how to cause some REAL pain!!!!!”

fringe_dl

In last night’s episode of Fringe, Sarek (father of Spock), Spock, Romulans, and Starfleet were all mentioned.  And what do I read about this morning?  Leonard Nimoy will be guest starting as William Bell, Walter Bishop’s ex-partner and the founder of Massive Dynamics!  Coincidence?  Clearly not.  Crossroad between Star Trek and Fringe, who would’ve thunk it?

Btw, am I the only one that totally gets their heart broken whenever she sees Walter Bishop cry like a baby?  I actually began to not like Agent Dunham purely based on the fact that she made Walter cry….

big_bang_theory_season_one

There are few shows that I really really enjoy on CBS, other than the news programs like CBS Sunday Morning and 60 Minutes.  One of them is a show called The Mentalist (which i’m sure I’ll eventually blog about), and the other one is this hilarious show called, “The Big Bang Theory.”  It’s a show that my hubby and I could both really enjoy together.  It’s a TV show about true-ultimate nerds living in LA.  I enjoy it so much purely based on the fact that the characters on the show remind me alot of John.  And I think John likes the show based on the fact that he could relate to these characters.  I think he secretly loves explaining all the obsecure references that only a true nerd can appreciate and funny grasp.  It’s a really hilarious show.  You should definitely make the time to watch it.

That’s right folks, John and I bought tickets to go see MTV’s “America’s Best Dance Crew” on tour!  And this is the last season’s champs called the “jabbawockeez” aka “jbwkz”.  And yes, they were as good as they were on TV and it really made me appreciate how good they really were.  And yes, John and I were probably the oldest people there other than the security….

Just watched this with John and I am still speechless.  I was a huge fan of the first “Celebrity Apprentice” so by default, we sit around fast forwarding thru this season’s shows.  But tonight, I couldn’t believe the drama that I might’ve almost missed!

Here are couple of things that I thought were pretty out-of-this world ridiculous and still trying to wrap my head around!

  1. What was up with Jim Cramer and Mr. Donald Trump passing notes to each other????
  2. What was up with Joan leaving because of her daughter being fired?  Bit dramatic you think?
  3. What’s up with Joan going off on other contestants and calling them names like they were her worst enemies?
  4. What was up with Melissa insisting on leaving with her S*** right then and there?
  5. What was up with the behind the scenes folks coming out???  Was that staged?

I am beginning to question reality TV these days.  Yeah, I know, sad…. But, WOAHHHHHHHHHHH, seriously that was one crazy TV moment!  Thank God for DVR!

holliesteel_528721a

SERIOUSLY, another incredibly talent British person on “britain’s got talent.”  This little girl comes on the stage, bounces around, then she starts singing like she should be headliner on Broadway.  Her name is Hollie Steel.  I am beginning to feel like maybe these British producers are staging these acts with professional folks and trying to pass them along as just regular common folks.    I mean literally 2 weeks ago, I blogged about Susan Boyle!

Food for thought:  what’s gonna happend when “america’s got talent” starts in the summer?  do you think we will have just as talent folks here????? It really makes me wonder….

zimmern_ss_korea_001

A foreigner’s perspective on Korean food is always fascinating to me.  Since I am Korean and I LOVE/HEART/ADORE Korean food, I know I am completely bias.  But as John and I sat around watching Andrew Zimmern trek around Korea and as he described one of my favorite food “dduk bok ki” as  “play-dough with spicy sauce,” I totally cringed!

This actually reminds me of the time when I was watching Bobby Flay making “instant-kimchi/kimchi salad.”  It was so far from the Korean food that I grew up with, it bothered me so much that I actually wrote Bobby Flay an email.   Well, a lady named Stephanie Banyas on his staff replied to my email in this fashion:

” Bobby never claims to cook authentic food on Boy Meets Grill.  All the recipes that he prepares are “his” interpretation of other cuisine..such as Spanish, Italian, Chinese and yes, even Korean.  The kimchi that Bobby prepared was a quick kimchi and actually it is delicious and is one of the most requested recipes from all of his shows.  Remember, there is more than one way to skin a cat.  I hope you have a nice day too”

I don’t know what she’s like in person, but I thought the email was pretty “jack-ass” -like!

untitled

Okay, so I totally got suckered into watching this new show on MTV called, “the phone,” because of Mr. Justin Timberlake himself promoting the show on MTV like there was no tomorrow.  I thought to myself, I can’t stop watching “the hills,” totally entertained by “rob’s fantasy factory“,  and was obsessed with “run’s house” at one point,  so why wouldn’t this show be nothing less than fantabulous?   But after watching the first episode, I totally had mixed feelings.  I’m not sure how much of it is reality and how much of it is scripted like “the hills”.  CKB had told me how “the hills” was completely scripted couple of months ago, and I can’t even begin to tell you how devastated I was. Yeah, yeah, yeah, pretty silly for me to have believed otherwise.

Anywho, the show was “eh”.   The actual trailer for the show was 100 times better than the actual show.  What I had hard time believing was the reaction of the contestants as they are going about the show.  They know it’s a game show, and they know that MTV wouldn’t jepordize anyone’s life or risk dangering the public, so why are they freaking out on the show??????  I’m not sure, it’s a bit much for me to take in as total reality….  And how could MTV afford to put a show like this together every week?  Is JT lending his money to produce the show?

John made a comment about how sad it was for me to know the names of 1/2 of the participants on the “RW/RR Duel 2“.  Maybe I should spend less time watching MTV, and do something  more productive like packing for our move.

So I totally LOVE this show.  I’m fairly certain I’ve mentioned that before.  But didn’t realize how unobservant I was until I came across this site today.  Apparently, the Observer, is in alot more episodes that I had realized and there were all these clues that I would’ve totally missed if it weren’t for these folks who are clearly ALOT  more obsessed about this show than I could ever be.

Here’s something that John and I would’ve noticed.  Apparently there are these “glyphs” that are part of the commercial breaks.  How AWESOME is this??????  I’ve actually posted some of these images couple of weeks back while talking about the show.  Who knew they actually carried some sort of coded messages.  Seriously, I’ve just gained so much more respect for JJ Abrams and the folks who created Fringe.

Spike TV has come up with a new reality show that will be a solid solution to the “pirates are taking over the world” problem mentioned by Gina last week.  Spike TV also happens to be one my hubby’s favorite channels.  Just thought to mention that!

kings_header1

The new TV show called “The Kings” is definitely gaining some leg on my list of favorites on the tube.  I didn’t know much about the show prior to watching the first episode and to my surprise, it was actually based on the Biblical characters David and Saul.  The power struggle, good vs. evil, coming of age, romance, and corruption…. seriously it’s really great stuff.  The writing is pretty fantastic and has depth, and the characters are fairly phenomenally developed as well.  And yes, it doesn’t hurt the fact that the lead character, David Shepherd played by Chris Egan, looks like young Matt Damon and the acting is just out of this world.

nup_133210_01631

Remember this guy named Paul Potts couple of years back?  Well there’s another “unassuming” British peep that could sing like no other.   Her name is Susan Boyle.  Not only can this woman sing, she sang a song from Les Mis, my FAVORITE musical in the world (seen it 11 times).  I should also mention that when Paul Potts auditioned, he sang Nessum Dorma, which also happens to be one of my favorite.  Coincidence????? I Think NOT!

Saw this on CBS Sunday Morning couple of weeks ago.  Thought it was kind of neat since Gina posted the other week about graffiti.

seriously. probably one of the strongest and most determined group of people there is in the world.  it’s a freaking strong cult following. i don’t know what it is about colbert. but he says something, and the next day, things are a happening. i, too, am part of colbert nation. tune in tonight to see if they name the space shuttle after him. comedy central. 11:30 est. pm.

A theory was proposed to me by a really smart co-worker on my “one-upper” situation.  Jeff suggested that I should become a “two-upper.”  Whatever the person says, I one-up them.  According to Jeff, this will shatter their world and make them crumble at the core of who they are.  I mean it’s a pretty fantastic idea but I don’t know if I am up for this kind of challenge.  WAIT, WAIT, WAIT, wouldn’t it just turn int a conversation between two “one-uppers”?????
