So my friend Lanigan recommended this movie called “easy a“.  i did not watch this movie because the trailer looked really dumb.   Clearly I should NOT be judging a movie by it’s trailer.   It was such a funny movie and I really really really enjoyed it.  Really great writing and awesome acting.  Yes, it was very predictable plot but i am willing to overlook that slight flaw for the entertainment value of this movie….  here’s a sample of good writing from this movie.

“Whatever happened to chivalry? Does it only exist in 80’s movies? I want John Cusack holding a boombox outside my window. I wanna ride off on a lawnmower with Patrick Dempsey. I want Jake from Sixteen Candles waiting outside the church for me. I want Judd Nelson thrusting his fist into the air because he knows he got me. Just once I want my life to be like an 80’s movie, preferably one with a really awesome musical number for no apparent reason. But no, no, John Hughes did not direct my life.”

Saw this  and I totally had to share.  UP is one of my favorite movies of all time.  And a team from National Geographic’s new show, “How Hard Can It Be?” was cool enough to try this for me

A friend sent me this video recently because he saw my posting about 500 days of summer on this blog some time ago.   And while watching this video funny thing occurred to me.  If I was a man, I would love to date someone like Zooey Deschanel.  She would be my soul mate.  Funny thing is, shouldn’t I have been thinking, “wow, that joseph gordon-levitt, sure is a cutie!”

I saw Kick Ass in Seattle while visiting my bff Gian at a theater where they served alcohol.  I think I would’ve enjoyed this movie even without the alcohol.  Yes, there was incredible amount of violence, and yes there was incredible amount of profanity, and yes, most of it was from actors who were just kids .  But it was one of the most entertaining movies that I’ve seen in a really long time.  Mindless, good action, good plot,  and good dialogue.  It was  satisfying in so many ways.  John and I watched it recently and I was glad I made the time to watch it again.

I’m not sure how this slip my radar.  But yes, there will be an actual theatrical release of a movie based on the Facebook story this October. | continue reading |

I haven’t seen the movie but now I am willing to wait for the DVD.   | continue reading |

When I found out I was going to be “transitioned” out of my current position, after couple of days crying, I had sent out an email to friends and family about my situation.  Then someone forwarded me this site called Lemonade the movieIt really gave me the courage and hope that I really needed at the time.  I’m sure it was a way for God to reassure me that things were gonna be okay and that this was happening for a reason beyond my limited understanding.  I’ve been going thru a bit of an emotional and spiritual discovery in the past couple of weeks.  When I have some more time to spare, which I will in couple of weeks, I’ll definitely post more things about my process and progress.

UP was one of my favorite movies.  And Russell was such an awesome character.  So when I saw this picture, it totally brought a smile to my face.  This is not the kid who was the voice in the movie.  Not really sure who this kid is but this is so freaking cute.

One of my favorite movies in the world.  I go around quoting lines from this movie.  This trailer made me think twice…..

This is kind of old but thought to share regardless.  Transformers 2 was pretty decent.  Total summer blockbuster with really solid fighting scenes and all.  But a bit too long with the non-sense comical shinanigans….

Saw Bangkok Dangerous with Nicolas Cage this weekend along with 10 other films.  The only really memorable thing about the movie was this watch.  It’s made by a company called V-Tec, which no long is in business.  Very unfortunate, since the watch is pretty awesome.

ok. i’m going to assume that everybody’s read where the wild things are at some point in their life. most likely childhood. i don’t think i’ve met anyone, at least from my generation (i’m an 80s baby) that hasn’t read this book. eh, there might be a couple. but only because they didn’t grow up in america. you guys know what i’m talking about.

well guess what, they’re finally making it into a movie. I KNOW. awesome. and guess who’s directing it … SPIKE JOOONZE (pretend you hear me saying it like i’m saying mike jooones. you know, the rapper). he’s done a bunch of music videos that i love. i’m super stoked. and you know who’s composing the music? carter burwell and karen o from the yeah yeah yeahs. yeah, i have no idea who carter burwell is but i sure damn well know who karen o is.

can you tell how stoked i am? just a little. can’t wait for october..

JJ Abrams had brought Fringe into my life and now the new Star Trek crew!  Thank you JJ Abrams!  Just saw the new Star Trek movie and it was pretty fantastic.  The character development, the intricate plot that John kept wanting to explain, and nostalgic moments of familiar characters with their catch phrases….AHHHHHHHH, it was executed flawlessly!

However John made a good point.  If they wanted to stay true to the story, the panels of the Bridge should’ve been in DOS and decorated in bright lights and stickers, none of this minority report” technology….

Regardless, it was a fantastic movie and would love to see it again!

I finally got around to seeing the Twilight movie the other week.  Of course it wasn’t as good as the book but I literally gasped when Edward Cullen appeared on screen the first time.   The acting was bad and there was no chemistry between Edward and Bella.  Casting for the rest of the characters was horrible at best.  But seriously, ask me if I cared… I mean just look at this man!

today is officially earth day. go see the movie earth from disney. i don’t know. seems like planet earth but james earl jones is the narrator and it only follows three families. still seems awesome to me. what’s better than animals in HDDDDD? it’s out today.

Some commercials that I just LOVED.

“Knowing only is half the battle…. GOOOOOOOOO JOEEEEE!”

Live long and prosper…. “

No American car commercials this year but have no fear my lovely one, AUDI is here! The commercial was eh, but my two loves, AUDI and Jason Statham.

On a side note, I think my husband might’ve shed a tear for the “land of the lost” trailer….
