Katherine sent me an one liner email that read, “photo contest AND you can try the new Dominos Pizza” with the link for “Show Us Your Pizza” contest.
I don’t know if I would consider myself the biggest Anthony Bourdain fan, but his show “No Reservations” has been one of my favorite shows for a fairly long time. I actually became his fan while watching him on Food Network in “Kitchen Confidential.”
after coming back from the flower market this weekend, I had green tissues paper all of the apt. Teffie looked so nice against the bright green.
Tigger chillin’
On Valentine’s Day John and I ventured out to Brooklyn to get some awesome tacos. While I was trying to take a picture of John’s reflection on the window I noticed this girl staring at me taking the pictures. Her stare was so intense and direct, I had to take a picture of her.
nj sunset
hellooooo booyyyssss!
something green to say “happy st. patrick’s day” (@red lobster)
View from our balcony after the snow storm. It was so incredibly peaceful and breath-takingly stunning.
This was our dinner the nite of the really horrible snow storm. Yes, this would be comfort food for Asians. Soba noodles with veggies, tofu, kimchi, and nori. It was super yummy.
An artist named Dina Goldstein’s Fallen Princesses brilliantly depicts a realistic portrait of how things might’ve turned out for some of our beloved fairy tale princesses in the modern times. I could totally see Cinderella having some serious marriage issues due to her childhood abandonment and abuse issues coupled with being married to the “Bachelor”. The photography was beautifully done and these images do stirs emotions and impacting conversations for the audience.
This is Harriet. I didn’t fully understand the meaning of a scaredy cat until I met Harriet. She’s so scared of everything that John and I joke about how she will most likely die of a heart attack. Everything scares her. The wind, the rain, the doorbell, footsteps, printer printing, clicking of the mouse, cell phone ringing, and the list goes on and on. But somehow she has managed to survive in the Kim household as long as she has. We love her dearie and I hope she will be with us for long, long, long time. She’s also not comfortable showing affection or receiving affection. She gets super tense and cringes everytime I hold her. John says it’s because she sees me like Elmyra from Tiny Toons. I would like to think otherwise….
Teffie chillin’ in a white crate
This is my dear buddy Tigger. My favorite. But I only tell him that when the other cats are not around. I don’t want to show favoritism. He was tiny when we first got him. And since people ususally don’t believe me, I have to show them pictures of Tigger when he was just a tiny kitten. But now when people meet him for the first time, people are in shock at how big he is then ask what we feed him. I kid you not, he will be the biggest cat you’ll meet. I always try to take flattering pictures of him. Tigger is an awesome cat. Dog-like cat. Such an incredible companion and I do truly love him!
Tiny converse keychains… too cute.
I am 34 today. This was the cake that Susan got for me on my 32nd bday. I somehow managed to convince Susan and Claudia to fly out to Nashville, TN for my bday that year. Susan flew across the country with this cake from LA from my favorite bakery in the universe. SWEET LADY JANE! It was one incredible weekend that I will probably never forget.

homemade red vevlet
the best red velvet i had was at Amy’s Bread. These were made from Amy’s Bread recipe

steak sandwich

pageant of masters
This was at the Pageant of Masters last summer with Gina and Susan. This must be my 10th time taking part in the experience. I think it’s totally one of the coolest things you could experience in LA area (Laguna Beach). I actually bought tickets for this summer as well. I’m totally crossing my fingers that I get to make it out there. 🙂

teffie
This is my #2 of 4 cats. His name is Teffie (Teflon). Teflon was John’s nickname during college and thought it would be cool to name our first boy cat by that name. He is a truly gentle and sweet cat, except to short people/females (long story). Needless to say, he is John’s favorite. It’s quite amazing to see him run to John whenever, wherever John calls him.
As John puts it, Teffie feels the pain of the world. Always tries to save the underdogs, rescue the needy and defend the weak. And he also likes to be held while he falls asleep. Here he is, gently observing the world go by.
this was at some korean frozen yogurt place in fort lee. i thought it was just so random….
- IAC folks
I’m not sure what this was for but it was some sort of event in the lobby of our office building.

This was the view from our new apt on our first full nite there.

cliffside park don't go out at dark
Random nite in Cliffside Park in front our house. I remember Gina coming by to drop something off or picking something up. She told me I should take a pix of the sky because it just looked sooo funky….

glimpses of you everywhere

perfect lighting
This is a poster sitting in my cousin’s living room in Boston. We’ve been to the DeCordova museum couple of times while visiting my cousin’s family but never noticed this poster in their living room till this past visit. It was a perfect afternoon sunlight hitting the poster just at the right angle. Love it.

Transformers, roll out!
Griffith Park is one of my favorite places in LA. I don’t care that it’s touristy and I don’t care that you get to see all the smog of LA. And yes, this is where the Transformers got together to have a little pow-wow….

yum yum dim sum
I cross 2 rivers to get to Jade Asian Restuarant in Flushing to get dim sum. I only go here to get dim sum because John and I’ve had really HORRIBLE experiences everywhere else. I would love it if someone could recommend some place in Jersey that would be comprable to Jade. This place has amazing dimsum options!

John and I are officially moving today from this house where we lived for more than 3 years. It’s bitter sweet really but looking forward to what’s in our future. Saw this for the first time this past winter. Thought it gave the house alot of character.

This was at the New York Botanical Garden in Brooklyn couple of years back at the annual “the orchid show”. This was before my nikon d40…. Not bad

notes from the meeting
I help out with various events throughout the year. This meeting was for the event with Wycleff at Simon’s apartment. Look at us all organized with notes and all….

Paris!
This was the view from our hotel room at the Bellagio. I think Vegas is so surreal and fantastic. Gotta love it!

on a boat
I’m not 100% certain what this could be called other than a compass. Saw this on a boat one time in CT and thought it was super cool.

Mr. Manuel before he got famous
This is Mr. Lin Manuel Miranda before his big broadway hit “in the heights’ came out. He was part of a very unique group called Freestyle Love Supreme. There was a point in my life when I was obsessed with the guys. Just saw them perform the other month and they were good as I remember them to be. But of course, Lin Manuel’s touch/flare to the group was definitely missed.
- paul frank at the beach

Nashville Icon
This was from my trip to Nashville couple of years back. Saw this and thought it was such classic “nashville” image. Love it
This is Snickers. She is about 8 years old. She is a very friendly cat to everyone except to the boy cats in the house. We have several theories about her being this way. We think it may be due to the fact that either she’s upset about her bitter divorce with Teffie or she may be possibly blaming Teffie for taking away her babies. Oh yeah, they had 5 kittens together that we gave away.
She used to be my favorite until Tigger came along. But Snickers is very dear to me!
- old school
This is in front of Alcove in LA. Alcove was recommended by Claudia while back and whenever I go back to LA, I pencil it in my schedule to make sure I stop by. I couldn’t believe something this old existed in LA. Totally cool.

Walking in Hobken after the somewhat monthly brunch with Gina and Olga.

@ an airport
Can’t recall which airport this pix was taken at. Funny thing is, it could be so many different airports around the world.

at the Walden pond
My cousin’s family actually lives only couple of miles from the Walden Pond. Visited last fall and someone had climbed over the fence to make this at the edge of the pond. Either that or there are some really smart animals living at the pond.

side profile
AUDI R8. John and I have owned an Audi for the past 5 years. We LOVE our car and we’ve also gained a rew respect for german engineering. I think we would most likely own an Audi for the rest of our lives.

thank you Jesus!
Saw this at an art gallery on 19th ave, around the corner from our office on a gorgeous day in NYC. It made me wonder which demonination they used for this art work.
- somewhere in ATL
This was in the middle of Atlanta somewhere. While visiting my parents, my cousin’s family ahead of us lead us astray. But it was a beautiful road on a beautiful day.
Today is our 5th Wedding Ceremony anniversary. Took this pix while back but thought it was appropriate for such a special day.

I like to move it move it
Happy meal in the sun. This was at Leslie’s house in November? This is how you know there are kids running around this house.

In the moment
At the Wycleff event in October. A lady in the costume….

ABDC #1
That’s right folks, John and I bought tickets to go see MTV’s “America’s Best Dance Crew” on tour! And this is the last season’s champs called the “jabbawockeez” aka “jbwkz”. And yes, they were as good as they were on TV and it really made me appreciate how good they really were. And yes, John and I were probably the oldest people there other than the security….

where i work.... @ 2008 IAC Soiree
This is my office building. It’s the first Frank Gehry building in NYC. Yes, it’s pretty fantastic working here and I think sometimes I take it for granted that I work in this gorgeous building. This pix was taken, on one of the few time, us common folks, were allowed on the 6th floor. It was 2008 IAC Summer Soiree.

with susan and gina at zuma beach
Zuma beach is my favorite beach in the universe. This was Gina’s first time at Zuma beach, and first time in LA. I think she enjoyed it alot. This is one of my favorite pix from this trip. I feel there’s something so incredibly tranquil about this particular moment.

favorite yellow thing i own - my hogan bag
Me: Honey, I need to go shopping to release some stress
Hubby: Okay, good, we need some stuff from Costco
Me: Dude… not that kind of shopping!
So I bought this bag and few other things that day. I ADORE this bag.
Took this pix last October at an Antilia event with Simon that I helped plan/coordinate. Didn’t know who Wyclef was and met him for the first time. Really nice guy, fantastic performer and his manager was pretty fantastic as well. The advice that I got from his manager that I still use everyday… “don’t talk to crazy people…. “
on saturday i went to the bergen town center with my brother. my mom’s been talking about it and we’ve seen it driving up and down route 4. so my brother wanted to check it out. so we get there. go through the mall. and guess what we seeee…
just in case you’re wondering who the eff bobby is .. it’s bobby flay. that’s right .. bobby flay has a burger joint. no no, let me rephrase. he has a burger PALACE. it’s a standard burger joint. except .. it has bobby flay’s name on it. and thus the lines are ridiculous.
that’s the inside.. after .. 20 minutes of waiting? and we’re still in line. .. waiting.
but long story short, the burgers were alright. i don’t know if i’d wait on line like that for burgers again. but then again, i’m not a burger lover. the only burgers i’d wait on line for are shake shack and in n out. deeelliiicious. one good thing is the different burger options (?), choices (?). i’m not sure what the right term would be. just check out the menu. had the dallas burger. it was pretty good. onion rings. always delicious.
ok. the picture looks gross. and it’s a bad picture. what do you expect? i was driving and using my iphone to take the pic. …….yeah, i’m that crazy asian female driver. my brother always did say i fulfill the female asian driver steroetype..
random picture i took on friday by the west side highway.
what kind of license plate is small fry? i’d think small fry is one of those things you’d never want to be called, let alone advertise on your plate …
i took this picture a couple of months ago by the holland tunnel entrance downtown nyc. no words necessary. except.. WHERE’S MY FUCKING BAILOUT?!
